Hi all , well we’re to start , I put my Rover on coils after many of yous said not to bother a while back , just seemed the easy option at the time , but now am looking to buy some gen 2 air springs and put her back on air, Just wanting to know a few things .

First am looking to buy some 16” alloys with some new discoverer STT pro at size 245/75/16 . Will these rub with arnott gen 2 springs .

And is there any of yous local to Newcastle that may be interested in the work . Or just local to me anyway .

Last of all are the air springs reliable and how long does the system stay working with good up keep of parts .

Thanks

I overhauled my EAS over 8 years ago. Since then I had an intermittent fault that turned out to be the driver pack, a quick reset and it would be fine again for a while, I repaired the driver pack and that problem has not recurred.
The only other problem I've had was a fairly new dryer dumping it's contents into the valve block.
The 8 year old Arnott Gen 2's still look like new.
If you are going back to the EAS, you need to consider a valve block and compressor overhaul and a new dryer is essential, after a long period of inactivity it will be soaked with humidity.
As for wheels and tyres, the wheels need to have the correct rating for a 2.25 tonne vehicle, OEM. The new MOT here in France checks that the tyres are a size homologated for the car, wrong Wheels or tyres is now a fail.
Gen 2's will make no difference as to whether the tyres will or will not rub.
