Good afternoon,
I've been having some issues recently with my 2009 Freelander 2 in that it shudders when stopping and it recently came up with engine system fault on the dash.
Reading the codes it all pointed to the throttle body valve getting stuck, so cleared it and carried on. It then came back on this week (been fine for 3-4 weeks), so decided to give it a good clean today and it definitely needed it.
However, when I unscrewed the sensor (MAP sensor I believe) on the top to get to the throttle body bolt, it literally just fell off, leaving the sensor in place. It seems like this has broken a while ago and someone has just screwed it back on as it had dirt between the connector and sensor tube.
Is it simply a case of ordering a new sensor and trying to fish out the old tube/sensor, with it being plug and play or do I need to calibrate anything?
Also if it's not the map sensor I would greatly appreciate it if someone could correct me, I sadly can't seem to post photos at the moment. Hanes manual seems to say it's the MAP sensor.
Thank you for your time and I hope someone can help me out, this is my first foray into doing stuff myself.
