... after much debate we ("Me-n-'er") have decided to have our loft access hatch enlarged.
Because she can't get up there without my participation and assistance, and the access is so small and the angle so steep that you bump your shoulder blades on the access hole as you get through. Once up there, you are in a fully floored 24 x 18 room-space.

I think that family developments later this year will see us hosting another of my son's and his kids 24x7 so we need to have all my wifes art-studio stuff accessible to her up there instead.

Our builder came and looked today and said it's probably a day to expose and expand the opening and another day to close and tidy up.

I reckon it's going to cost me £1500. :(
You could gerra full size nooker table up there. All wood. Slate is too heavy.

Nice pics, nice pans!!
Interesting that not all the handles are the same, and none of them seem to be that deep. The single one that we have has a black cast handle like yours but is almost as deep as it is wide, a real "sauce" pan as opposed to anything else. The insides sure do look nice and clean and ready to be cooked in. the outsides look pretty OK too, not over shiny but fine!

Is there any reason why you cannot do it yourself? Is it your neck/shoulder problem?
:(:(:(

Main reasons are that I am cash rich & time poor, and I hurt all over most days and I don't want to make things any worse.
I did the whole loft conversion/joists/flooring etc. back when I was nimble and strong back in the 90's.
That's a long time ago and time has had her way with me and I just don't have it in me any more.

So sorry to hear this, didn't realise you were in that much pain although obvs realised you still had some.
If you have got the dosh, go for it.
W keeps on at me to do this too as we are both getting on. Trouble is none of our problems are straightforward enough for a normal trade to handle, easily quickly and cheaply otherwise I'd go for it too.
Yes, I am in danger of dying and leaving money to lord knows who. Ought to spend it while I can and can enjoy it!!

The sauce pans were in the dishwasher so missed the pic. :D

I fully understand how you are feeling - not nice realising that the body is not as young as it used to be!

W has just reminded me that when they had that copper bath they discovered that they had to be very careful with it especially when the kids used it.
Thye had to put cold water in first then gradually add the hot, as if you put the hot in first the heat from it spread too fast, so fast that there was a danger of burning yourself on the rim of it.

Yer you deffo dont want a burnt rim. 🤣 🤣

Morning all tis been raining during the night, tis warm but overcast. Im having the day off as not feeling great.
Went out for pizza last night & I only ate a little bit, was coughing yesterday & got a sore throat. So eye is doing nowt. :)

Ripped the rest of the kitchen out yesterday, wee bit of plastering & plumbing. Put a few units in place had to put a hole in the
back of one as its for the stop cock. Think I'll make a wee sleeve so you dont see it when the cupboard is open.
Moving the dishwasher so more plumbing to do. House is a tip 🤣🤣
