Fuel capacity in a 101 ambi

Including jerry cans? Or standard tank? Think it's 20 gal. MPG is from 5 to 20, depending on road, load, engine and gearing.

Say 12? For a V8. 20 for a diesel.

I think I got about 22mpg out of mine when we spent a week driving about France.

2.8 international engines tgv

Mostly motorway, rather than nipping down the shops.

I had to spend 17 euros on French diesel. The rest I took with me (cheap magic monkey juice)

Seriously though. You've a brick with huge tyres and very low gearing using an engine designed when petrol was cheaper than water.

It's not going to be competitive with anything, bar a petrol HGV.

Here are some specs:

I reckon if you are worried about the mpg you probably shouldn't buy a 101. Mine still isn't on the road yet but when it is i'm going to be in total denial regarding the fuel economy.
It still has the original 33k kms V8 in it. I'll probably end up fitting LPG to it and might put a 3.9 in to replace the 3.5.
Or maybe a diesel, but that'd require a different gearbox as i want something that will bolt straight in without faffing about with convertion plates.

I’m not worried about the mpg, I’m just curious. Getting to many different answers on google. Always wanted a 101 and will soon have the chance.

Oh, and jerry cans are great!
Have you found getting them filled can be a problem? I tried to fill two with diesel before covid and ended up having a argument with a woman from Sainsburys who kept trying to inform me of the law in that you can only use a container made for the use of carrying fuel(Lady, it's a bloody jerry can!) and that you can only carry up to 5 litres of petrol. Fine i said, but have you noticed i'm standing here with the DIESEL nozzle in my hand? I tried to tell her that there isn't a limit on how much DIESEL you can carry, only petrol. In the end i gave up and drove to another Sainsburys to use my Nectar triple points on fuel voucher and filled up both without a problem.

That is your problem, just there. Sainsbury's.

Around here they're happy if you don't use a bucket and actually pay.

To be fair my problem was Redditch Sainsburys, Worcester Sainsburys didn't bat an eyelid when i filled up both cans. She was an annoyingly ill informed jobsworth! It was no real problem as i was in Redditch seeing mates and i work about a mile from the Worcester Sainsburys so i just filled up the following day after work.
