Thanks. I only installed the pump about four months ago. Is there anything else which could make the pump fail early apart from buying dodgy ebay parts. The previous pump was working ok but I had a water leak around the gasket and occasional overheating. So I changed it and the viscous fan.

Ive been loosing coolant and have found a small round hole on the flat side towards the alternator. Is there supposed to be a hole. Should there be a grubscrew or something to stop it ****ing out all my fluids. Glad of any assistance before shelling out for a new one

Changing water pump isnt too complicated if you have a day to spare. Water pump on ebay about £70. Remove radiator, remove belt, unscrew big nut holding on viscous fan (mine was seized on and I had to cut it off with bolt cutter and replace tviscous unit too, might be worth doing it anyway in...

this sounds like the problem I had with my BECM module (see Is it the BeCM). The other possibilities are fuses 1 or 8 in the underseat fuse box, or something to do with relay 7 in the underbonnet fuse box. Apparently the pins can overheat. Hope it isnt the BECM, cos it'll cost you to fix

Is it possible to hard wire aircon/hevac power on to avoid replacement of a possibly dodgy BECM. I'm a bit out of my depth when I look inside the BECM box, and dont want to donate another £700+ to the old charity case.

The heater fan on my P38 '95 4.0se has suddenly stopped working. Heat still comes from vents but no blower either auto or manual. Fuses all seem to check out. I guess I have a failed fan motor. How difficult is replacement?

My P38 has bubbling of the plastic coating on the door window sorrounds. I assume that its caused by rust. What's the best way to tackle it? Can I replace the black plastic covering?

It's all sorted. The dealer reprogrammed the key and suddenly everything worked again (at a cost of £117). Thats about £400 per hour!.
