thanks bigden I'm just in the finishing thro's of rebuilding it. Timing is spot on but I have found evidence of a leak at the air intake/manifold no gasket had been fitted. Let you know the results tomorrow.

Can any boffins out there help. Original engine died. Bought an L series from an MG ZR. Garage stripped it to the block and rebuilt with all the original freelander parts including the timing gear. Now serious lack of power as if turbo not working. Diagnostic test shows no faults but timing out...
