You did right by stalling it , avoiding a runaway , when a turbo blows it's white smoke first , if the engine is not stopped by stalling , it's black smoke second , as the engine oil is burnt as fuel , and thirdly sparks as the engine seizes :eek: hope its just a injector problem !

It would worthwhile doing the bmw breather mod , as the filters clog if left , plenty of info on here about it !

Took me a while to find out what it was !

the H P fuel injector pump is chain driven , located behind the alternator , I could not find where it was leaking from , but as I said in your last post diesel drips from the pulley side down to the sump , had it replaced , and that leaked after 3 months , so garage had to do it again , and...

Check for splits/tightness of clamps on your turbo/intercooler/egr hoses hope thats all it is :eek: the td4 has a oil cooler , has that pipe split , if the breather is blocked oil comes out of the dip stick !

Could be diesel , from the hp pump , I thought it was a oil leak on mine , but as said it was not dirty , and turned out to be diesel , came from drivers side of the engine , from the pulley area !

The rubber hoses on mine were porous , and tend to split , you dont need the air intake hose , but looks better than what was on !

The door still has rounded edges , the plastic trim is square and hollow behind , and a sod to keep clean !

Give it a good going over with T cut , and I would use a suitable size brush to paint the remainder of the damaged area , at least it''s not metallic !

I know the scangauge has to be calibrated by the owner for mpg , but relies on the cars sensors for readings !

Mine has been fine , touch wood , with gauge info instant , boost , mph , volts , water temp , not heard of the fault code encryption , bit of a **** if its true :eek::eek:

I am keeping an eye on the temp , if it gets any lower I have bought the gates stat that fits in the top hose , I have yet to hear the cooling fans working :eek: and the heater seems to work once it gets going !

I used marine grade silicone , made a sound repair .
