    Fitting defender 90 parts

Why not just get a defender or a 90 then.... whilst I can perhaps understand changing the doors (although potentially very expensive) why lose all the stuff what gives the Series 3 its character. Still it's your truck.. so you do exactly what you want with it and don't let miserable old gits...

    MM 4x4 Parabolic Suspension kits

No the dampers don't provide extra ride height, but compared to ordinary leaf springs you will probably find that the parabolic springs lift the body up from the axles a little bit, that along with a bit more articulation means that to get the most out of it on uneven ground I went for the extra...

    MM 4x4 Parabolic Suspension kits

Think the standard combination for use with parabolic springs would generally be accepted as ProComp ES3000 (extra long to allow for additional lift and travel) - it's what I've had on mine for about 3 years now along with GB Springs (cannot reccomend GB Springs quality and service highly...

    Door Top Channel

......Oops - just realised that the link to the people you referred to was the Series 3 club anyway. What I did need to do was countersink the screw head inside the channel slightly to help the windows run free, and again set them in RTV. I then found that I could sort of adjust the friction on...

    Door Top Channel

I know the Series 3 Club sell window channel, but not sure if the standard wrapped steel stuff, or plastic channel Window Channel I also Know that Rocky Mountain do an aluminium and rubber track that used when I had a Station Wagon back on Gerty, which was excellent quality, but not sure if...

    rag top seat belts

Looks like a plan that may just work.... Genius - trouble with mine is no roll bar (don't think the standard hoops would be much use.... in fact don't really think seat belts are much use in a rag top without a roll bar but don't expect plod will take that as a decent excuse???

Trouble starting series 3 2.25 diesel

Manual says to fully depress throttle when starting... I keep the clutch down as well - when starting from cold I always give it a good 10-15 seconds of glow first

    rag top seat belts

This is where mine is located (most new belts come with the bracket to do this - e.g. from Paddocks, etc)

    rag top seat belts

Roller end of inertia belts normally fits on tub side of bulkhead behind seats using "L" bracket to orientate it correctly (not enough room between seat box and door to fix it where you would normally see it on modern cars... fixed end is at bottom towards rear of seat box (you will see a...

If it's original parts you're after then try Dunsfold... I have included a link below, but I generally find it best to speak to them direct (ask for Nick) - prices are actually very good too Dunsfold DLR

    Series III Tyre choice?

The aspect ratio of a tyre is the height of the tyre sidewall expressed as a percentage of the tyres width (The "R" denotes the tyre construction type as "Radial" and is not the radius dimension of the tyre). To understand this more you need to recognise the meaning of the size markings on the...

    inspections sockets

Inspection socket is not fused....I used mine to run power to a couple of cigarette lighter sockets for satnav etc, but put an in-line 10A fuse in to protect them (go careful with these when firkling around behind the dash on a S3 cos you can get a nasty jolt off of these - always disconnect...

    200di noise level

If you've fitted sound deadening throughout and stuck pads to the door panels to stop them drumming then I've heard that the Noise Killer lead engine covers really help (not tried it myself as I have the old 2.25 diesel and she's fine with heavy rubber mats in the back and Wrights sound proofing...

Overdrive fitted... new chassis required :(

I can only speak from experience, and say that the bulkhead that they did for me was absolutely brilliant, and also the galvenised framed doors... yes if you look really closely you can just about see where they refurbished the old bulkhead before galvanising it, but I actually prefer the fact...

    SWB re-chassis

Regarding the Diff Pan... you could fill it with a bit of weld as a stop gap but probably won't last very long.... I replaced both of mine with these heavier duty versions from Steve Parker (see link below) and found them to be excellent Axle Diff Pan
