They are very different vehicles, especially with regard to maintenance. Unless it is very cheap you need as much service history as possible.

I have no idea of MAF sensor cost but they are very easy to change. As pictured it is fitted to airbox and secured by two torx screws, T20 ? Could they have meant MAP sensor which is a little more difficult ? A PCM clear should have been run on a diagnostic to clear the fault code once changed.

Don't know about the Disco' 5, but on the Sport both Tailgate and body tail lights work on all models. The only difference being Rest of World or North American Spec'. The NAS having a side marker light. Unsure if it of any help, but again on the Sport, it is the same feed from the BCM splicing...

I may be missing something but could the answer to both questions be to fit locks from the opposite Drive vehicle ? Don't think any lock available for Disco'2 rear tailgate. Did Discovery 1 have one ? Also Maurizio you may want to try drying out the keyless receiver under the headliner.

Other than modern cars I have always started diesels with Clutch and Accelerator down. Use glow plugs if required and lift foot off when it starts or hold down if it struggles. Done it with my TD5 and current 5 Bearing 2.5 in Series 2A. Have you checked other possibilities ? Fuel or Glow plug.
