Help, what did I do ?

I think you will find Ed was testing Petrol injectors which are much lower pressure than a Diesel.

Help, what did I do ?

As I said earlier in the thread yesterday we cracked the injector pipes and it only dribbled out of injector 1 and nothing from the others. Fingers crossed for new Cam Sensor in 2 days time.

Help, what did I do ?

It did try and run on the Easy Start so I guess this is a good thing. I have decided to gamble and bought a new cam sensor, will see in a couple of days if it was the correct decision. Karl.

Help, what did I do ?

Its a brand new battery and it was and is ok before and after the problem started, good tip though. Any idea how to reset immobiliser etc just in case ? I reassembled the engine this morning and put the cam sensor in the freezer for an hour, no help. Mind you the sensor was covered in black...

Help, what did I do ?

Compression test done, it shows no problems. Have read this useful article ... http://tuning-diesels.com/75Zt/R75faults.htm#TD4 And looking at what many of you guys have said I shall remove the camshaft sensor next and stick it in the freezer for a while, apparently this fools it enough to...

Help, what did I do ?

The only thing I did when fitting glow plugs that might have been an error was that I was very generous with the old degreasing spray. It was a Bilt Hamber water based spray. It might have got into the connectors I suppose, I had not got the battery disconnected which in hindsight was probably...

Help, what did I do ?

I have no fault codes still. I only bought truck a month ago, it had many issues so only paid £400. It only started properly from stone cold in morning, after fitting a new fuel filter it would then do a warm restart, so if I popped to the shop first thing it would start from stone cold and...

Help, what did I do ?

Just to be clear I started out with a perfectly working vehicle that had an irritating warm start problem. I now have a vehicle that doesn't fire at all. I am sure there is nothing loose or disconnected by mistake, I have gone over it with a fine tooth comb and the weeping diesel was just from...

Help, what did I do ?

The leak is just a slight weep from the separator and as I was able to bleed the injector pipes then I can't see how it can be air getting in as there is fuel pressure. Have pulled intake manifold off and rechecked my work and can't see anything wrong. Have swapped the big yellow relays round...

Help, what did I do ?

My 2004 TD4 Facelift was running ok but I was trying to sort out the warm start problem. I decided to replace the glowplugs, which of course involves taking the air intake manfold off. I tested the plugs with a meter and found that 3 of the NGK plugs we faulty, confirmed by the fact that they...

    Suspension Questions

Nice web site but it doesn't say what brand they are so almost certainly going to be aftermarket junk. Have emailed and asked the question anyway. Thanks,

    Suspension Questions

I have had my 2004 Freelander Td4 Facelift for about a month now. Having fixed all the serious issues, I have now drawn my attention to the ride. I have 3 symptoms : Firstly the MOT threw up rear shocks as an advisory with no explanation as to why but they look ok, no leaks etc. Secondly the...

DISASTER with EGR Pipe - HELP !!!!!!!!!!1

Here are some photos to show you guys what I disaster I have had. Seems ok still. First photo is end of pipe that broke off on the motorway, so lucky it didn't get stuck on fan belt etc, when I pulled over it was just sat balanced on a pipe As you can see the hot gases caused some damage but...

DISASTER with EGR Pipe - HELP !!!!!!!!!!1

Put truck on ramps so I could crawl underneath. I can confirm there is no way on Earth you can remove the EGR Pipe from below, you can't even touch it let alone get any tools on the pipe. I got a friend with access to an engineering shop to make me a 1 inch long tapered bung out of stainless...

DISASTER with EGR Pipe - HELP !!!!!!!!!!1

Joe H, let me clarify. I need to remove the ENTIRE EGR PIPE because the end has SNAPPED OFF. Where it connects to the EXHAUST MANIFOLD is REALLY REALLY inaccessible. You can only JUST slide your hand down the rear RHS of the engine to touch the 2 bolts, no chance to get a socket or spanner in...

DISASTER with EGR Pipe - HELP !!!!!!!!!!1

Having fitted an EGR Bpyass Kit a few days ago, I decided to take my 2004 TD4 SE for a long run, after about 20 minutes out of the blue the exhaust started blowing. I pulled over and spotted the problem instantly, the end of the EGR Pipe that I had fitted the blank onto had sheared off probably...

    Missing Fuse and Mystery Connector

You are the 3rd person with a TD4 to say the same, I think thats me convinced. You'd think the manual would have better info. Ah well.

    Missing Fuse and Mystery Connector

I only purchased my TD4 a week ago, it was only running on 3 and was smoking badly all the time. I fitted the following mods and it now runs like a dream, good power across the range, very pleased. 5 Piece Derby Performance Hose Kit, with TBar Hose Clamps. EGR Bypass Kit Modified Crankcase...

    Missing Fuse and Mystery Connector

Mind you it says thats for K1.8, KV6 and NAS, so I assume therefore that Fuse 3 is not fitted to a Diesel engine. Can other TD4 owners have a look in their fuse box just to confirm ?
