    Swapping the Upper strut Mount

Yes I have already watched this thank you but it doesn't answer my question. In situ with the vehicle's weight on it, can I remove it from the top without taking the unit below it out ?

    Swapping the Upper strut Mount

I have a Freelander 1 Facelift TD4 and want to know if you can replace the upper strut mount quickly by not removing the shock/spring, just from above etc. A few weeks ago I bought 4 new shocks and 4 new mounts and took them to my local independent garage to fit. All was well until last week...

Range Rover Class Engine Swap Query

I decided to calls Dunsfold and they confirmed that was mentioned earlier, different mounts welded to the chassis for each engine. So my answer is drop another V8 in. Thanks, Karl.

Range Rover Class Engine Swap Query

This thread has turned into a discussion into which engine is best etc :-) All I want to know is without welding, what direct bolt in engine choices do I have if the chassis was originally a 3.9 V8. Thanks, Karl.

Range Rover Class Engine Swap Query

Surely the chassis isn't different for each engine choice ? I'm assuming the brackets that bolt onto the engine are designed to make the engine fit the standard chassis mounts ? Well that what I was hoping someone would clarify.

Range Rover Class Engine Swap Query

I have just purchased a RRC with no engine and gearbox. It is a late model that had the 3.9 V8 with GEMS distributor-less system. It had a scrap block in it which I have removed, I kept the 2 mounts that bolted onto the block. I am wondering what bolt on easy choices I had engine wise. Since...

    Range Rover Classic Axle Swap

I don't want an off roader thats what I started with 10 years ago. Been there done that, got t-shirt as they say. I appreciate your suggestions though. All I want at this stage is info on axle donor.

    Range Rover Classic Axle Swap

Here are some photos of it when it was being built. Cold drawn seemless steel welded by a rated welder at his business premises, cost me nearly £800 so reluctant to throw it away. Its not a full cage and is inside the lines of the body. Karl.

    Range Rover Classic Axle Swap

Yes thats was my first thought. I was hoping to buy a scrap defender or 90 so I could use the body panels etc.

    Range Rover Classic Axle Swap

I have a mint condition bobtailed RRC chassis with a very expensive rollcage welded on sat doing nothing in my workshop. I have tried selling it on eBay for ages and have not had any serious offers so I have decided to do something with it to make it more appealing. My idea is to build a 100"...

Can you identify this intercooler ?

I have a trialer based on a series 2a that has been modded by a previous owner. Most of the non standard parts like the 200TDi are from a donor Discovery 1 Auto. I have a damaged intercooler and need to replace it like for like with whats already fitted. The body of the intercooler is what...

    Which 88" chassis do I have ?

Thanks for all the replies guys. I have checked and it is made up of 4 pieces welded at the edges, no sign of a seam in the centre of the top or bottom section. So it would appear that its a Series 2/2a, so probably the 1961 chassis from the VIN, ID etc that the seller claims it is. Regards,Karl.

    Which 88" chassis do I have ?

Can someone offer me some pointers on how to tell visually whether an 88" chassis is Series 2, 2a or 3. There is no stamped VIN as the dumbiron was replaced. Its a rolling chassis which has been shot blasted, galvanised and painted. It has been offered to me for a good price. The seller...
