Disco 2 grill vs facelift grill

So it's "Saudi" not "Safari"... as long as you can see the radiator through it from distance it is OK for cooling but what my friend bought looked very "tight" like the one made by hugdavies and the cooling was compromised as i described

Can somebody show me such "safari grille" other than for snorkels? .... i wanted to see what kind of mesh they have which can improve cooling but couldn't find any link with a front grille named "safari"

    D2 - SLS woes

Don't fit it completely to the casing just connect the pipes and plugs to it for test and let it so over night then if no leaks fix it gently to it's place

    D2 - SLS woes

Hi. As long as you can see clearely the leak coming from the valve's body you are not missing anything unless you manage somehow to hurt that valve while you fit it

    Base idle tuning - Disco 1 - V8 3.9L

HI, did you clear the fault code after the adjustment? that's what they say it's necessary(around the middle of the page) https://www.actproducts.co.uk/2011/lucas-14cux-fuel-injection-system-%E2%80%93-installation-and-diagnostic-notes/

Disco 2 grill vs facelift grill

Good luck then cos your grille looks very nice but for warmer areas i'm sure it could be a risk being so restrictive... though it would be good for you(and that's valid for all D2 owners) to fit an additional ECT gauge to see the real coolant temp cos as i said the factory gauge is a bad...

Disco 2 grill vs facelift grill

But did you watch live engine temp in the summer? calculating flow area is not so relevant IMO as the air's path after the grille is different according to the modell. A friend of mine bought a mesh grill advertised as an improvement(i dont remember from which manufacturer) which was made from a...

Disco 2 grill vs facelift grill

That mesh thing is the worst ideea cooling wise ... IMO those who sell it dont care about your engine or those who fitted it didnt watch the live coolant temp when it's warm outside to see the difference. It's good for winter but summer time when it's realy hot oustide it has bad effect for...

    Smoking and low power.

Search for untuned MSB101170 or 101171 at breakers or borrow one for test if you can

    Smoking and low power.

If it has black smoke it's overfuelled and as long as you don't know exactly what ECU or tune you have and dont try with a 100% OK untuned Defender ECU you'll just chase your tail with this IMO

    Smoking and low power.

and what part number ECU do you have in it now and who did the remap?....you said stage 3 remap which involves VNT/VGT turbo, uprated MAP sensor and performance intercooler do you have these? First of all the worst thing anybody can do is to remap an otherwise not well running engine as to...

Discovery 5 Alarm going off, losing coolant quickly and trying to find spare tyre

Buy THIS kit drive it untill the level in the tank drops then see..... if nothing visible beneath or around the engine see if the exhaust is glowing or not cos it can be a crack in the head or block where the coolant goes into the combustion chamber and burnt hence no trace of it

    Discovery 2 TD5 Donor Conversion

Check the spade connector to the starter solenoid to be tight, remove the starter relay and bridge the perpendicular cavities in the fusebox(where the relay's contact goes) if still nothing from the starter see if you get voltage to the solenoid with bridged relay and if you do the starter is...

Heater low temperature, lack of power, connected?

Replace the MAP sensor then, as about readings see the attachment

Heater low temperature, lack of power, connected?

It's the other way around... with low coolant temp and fuel temp input it should be more "nervous" than at normal operating temp.... see the fuel temp live input, at around 80*C coolant temp it shoudl be at least 10 dergrees lower...if the FT input is high the ECU is reducing the fuelling which...
