If intelligent grease does not work then go for the thick stuff. I will say the intelligent grease is more expensive, so choice is yours:)

Behind the dash is a lot of very small men, pikeys sized, who press buttons to work the dash work lights. There is no mystery, if you talk quietly to yer dash they will talk back and you can discuss the problem. I hope that helps:)
