Other what have u done on ur disco today

Well I said to Mrs BN that they weren’t oil stains on the block paved driveway, it was a Jackson pollock recreation then showed her the milk bottles I’d lined up... It’s fecking cold in the back of the disco and the rain is stopping me from sleeping right now. I’ll see if I can take a pic in...

Other what have u done on ur disco today

Changed the oil in both diffs... Then tried to put the oil filled milk bottles from the recycling bin into a full spectrum of black and browns in order on the garden wall... Mrs BN wasn’t impressed, I thought it was art...

Disco 2 TD5 fuel filter replacement

I found the priming process above not too bad, filled the filter up. I’ve read some people fill it 2/3 diesel 1/3 redex, I’m not sure what the benefit is there or the potential pit falls so I just used diesel. I switched the ignition on and left it for about a minute, turned it off for a bit...

    New leak

Yeah will do buddy, I’ve ordered up some seals from paddocks just now, if they are here and I can get some oil for it I’ll do the seal change this weekend (subject to mrs BravoNovember’s approval lol). Thanks for the original post tho, it’s saved me a lot of time faffing about with the brakes .

    New leak

That’s not too bad for garage rates, but I kinda want to give it a go myself now. I’ll be back on here at the weekend swearing lol

    New leak

So very glad I’ve read this thread. My truck has a similar leak I thought was coming from the brakes eeeek. But looking at the oil pattern on the back of the wheel in that vid mines the same but both sides. Looks like I’ll be doing those next weekend lol

    Interesting old Disco

I think I read in this months LRO that the big side decals were proper popular on the continent. That truck has some chunky ones, dunno if that helps.

    Westbury/Frome/Knook/Larkhill

Well if any of you don’t mind a noob in a disco 2 tagging along please drop me a shout on here! The snow coincided with the disco one being deemed terminally rotten by the mot bods, off the road and rubbed salt in the wound, sad times...

It’s not the day for it...

Well it was the day for it yesterday, sucked the oil out with an extractor and done the filters. It’ll do until I can get under with the breaker bar and a better socket. The bolts on the rotor housing tho, oh my, one of those had just about lost it’s thread at some point in its life and is now...

It’s not the day for it...

That’s a good idea in the meantime whilst I wait for the tool to be delivered. When the fan is off that is gonna get a whole load of anti seize, I don’t want to be in this predicament out in the cuds one rainy day.

It’s not the day for it...

Yeah, I’ve got a big ol breaker bar on order for the sump plug, the bolt itself looks fine and it isn’t just spinning in the sump so it might be ok? The prob with the fan is I’ve got nothin to stop the pulley spinning. I’ve tried Jerry rigging it with a spanner but looks like I may have to buy...

It’s not the day for it...

Oh feck, it is standard thread isn’t it??? That’s what the Haynes said anyway. Other than that I hit it up my right nostril pulling the spanner out in a mood lol.

It’s not the day for it...

Service kit, belts, tools, oils and gear laid out I had big plans today for the disco... And so... sump plug seized to buggery, viscous fan bolt the same... any hints I’m open to advice as really today I only changed the air filter, lubed the hinges and topped up the oil, after jacking her up...

Cheers! My truck’s staying on road only until the clutch is done so it’ll be a few weeks, but I’ll drop those guys a pm in the meantime.

Sold the white D1 to my mate round the corner, he and his wife were over the moon. Now I’ve got room for the new D2 truck to go on the drive, I’ll move it off the front flower bed later.

    Fun whilst it lasted...

Funny enough, I had a look at the course content today after your post and I’m inclined to agree with you. Looks like a lot of money to be told how to stick metal together and get on with it. Probs better spending that cash on a decent welder and like you say, practicing of a weekend.
