(insert hairdresser joke here) Bobtailed Audi TT

Have bashed on a bit further and chopped various bits off the front: Also found somewhere to fit the spare wheel, given that bobtailing it deleted the spare wheel well: Needs a suspension lift. Likely to be about 3". I'd rather it was a bit less due to driveshaft angle but I'm quite...

(insert hairdresser joke here) Bobtailed Audi TT

Oh, I totally agree that there are better ways to make progress both on- and off-road than a TT on big tyres. This has the appeal of the road less travelled though. Once it's done and the girls have driven it for a bit, it'll be up to Julia whether she wants to keep it, break it for bits (hope...

Haven't taught her to weld - yet ;)

(insert hairdresser joke here) Bobtailed Audi TT

We've done some chopping to improve the departure angle...

(insert hairdresser joke here) Bobtailed Audi TT

Soft-roader :) Will probably get outperformed by a 'lander (Freelander, hopefully not Toylander) over anything really rough. But should be a lot of fun along the way. Once we've done that for a bit, I might disconnect the front driveshafts, lock the centre diff and the girls and I can learn to...

(insert hairdresser joke here) Bobtailed Audi TT

No, it's not a Land Rover. It is on Disco tyres though! My daughter wanted to learn some mechanical skills, so I bought her an A3 to break for parts; the deal was that it paid me back and she got the rest. Her profits bought her a 2001 Audi TT Quattro, so we're doing a soft-roader conversion on...

For Sale Discovery 3-bolt diff flange puller

Ah, I've not been getting updates from this thread! Yes, I've still got a few of these. They're not fancy but they do work.

    Phantom Reversing Camera

Hmm. Had it been aftermarket, I'd suggest it was wireless and stopped working when it fell off.

Any recommendations for transporting a vehicle?

I need to move my project truck - a 100" cab-forward thing. Needs to go from Derby to Bridgewater. Can anyone recommend a reliable transport service? Thanks in advance.

Wanted Pair of 90 bench seats with belts

Am looking to buy a pair of 2-seat rear benches with seatbelts, ideally reasonably close to Derby or Nottingham. Thankyou in advance!

Dual shocks - what does the front lower mount bolt to?

I need to make up some lower mounts to allow me to add dual shocks to my Defender front axle. I can only buy the lower brackets with the upper dual shock turrets (which I already have). I've seen plenty of eBay listings for both together, but I can't find a decent picture of what the lower...

Really leaky rear end - pic any ideas?

Had a 300tdi Disco with a leak from the front seal of the rear diff. I first noticed it because the oil would come out at motorway speeds and spatter the steel centre of the rear wheel. Aerodynamics is a strange science.

    Fuel pipe question

Ah OK - with a sleeve inside to stop it collapsing? Much appreciated; I'll do that. Thankyou once again :-)

    Fuel pipe question

Hope people don't mind me coming with yet another question - I really appreciate the guidance that this forum has given me over the past couple of years. I'm building a fuel tank, using 10mm compression fittings onto a mix of copper and stainless pipes. Naturally I need to connect this tank to...

    Window rubber seals?

    Thankyou :)

    Window rubber seals?

My 110 side panels are leaking because the rubber seals have hardened and shrunk. The official Land Rover seal rubber costs a lot, but there are plenty of generic versions for all sorts of vehicles. Has anyone used an alternative that they can recommend? Thankyou in advance!

How far in do you push the LT230 front output shaft seal?

Great - thankyou very much. Figured I'd best check rather than cause an oil leak later!

How far in do you push the LT230 front output shaft seal?

Plenty of walkthroughs on how to replace the front output shaft seal. None (that I can find) mention the depth to which the seal should be driven into the box. I'm guessing that means you drive it all the way in until it seats, but I really don't want to find out the hard way that I'm wrong! Can...

Wanted Defender 110 rear springs DA4279

Edit: I've now bought some. If a mod could delete this thread, I'd be grateful. I'll do it myself once I figure out how... The back of my truck is sitting too high on lifted springs. I'm after a pair of standard height Defender 110 rear springs, if anyone has any in good order? My existing...

    Britpart 110 rear springs

One final question, if @mick 1986 or anyone else can help. DA4206 lifted springs are made of 17mm stock while the standard height DA4279 springs are listed as being made from 19mm dia material. Spring stiffness goes with the fourth power of stock diameter, so moving from 17mm to 19mm should...
