I am considering fitting a boost pin and ring to my 300tdi. I understand that the pin is an easy job but removing the cap where the ring is to be fitted is very, very fiddly. Any pointers before I pull the complete injection pump out?

I got mine from turbo-rebuild.co.uk. It's an original item and is a very simple swap.

As v8250 said, it can be rebuilt. The main shaft may need machining though. Where I come from we rebuild boxes all the time but in most instances, a simple re-kit will not do the job. We'll have to have the shaft machined.

When it happened to me it turned out to be a warped clutch cover. Gearbox or engine out time i'm afraid.

The old bearing probably seized at some point and wore a bit of a shoulder onto the stub axle. Sand it down a little bit. Getting it turned down on a lathe would be the best route to take but some careful sanding cannot hurt.

I need to change universal joints on a mate's 110 td5 (early type with salisbury axle). Which type of UJ is fitted to these vehicles? The ones with large cups or small cups? Part number would be helpful too. Thanks.
