    LT95 fluid transfer

Drum looks dry on the outside but I've never taken the drum off so I can't say if it's seeping inside. It does leak out of the front prop output.

    LT95 fluid transfer

Thanks James. Can this be done in situ or is a gearbox out job? I might replace my clutch in the summer so I could do it then if it needs the box out.

    LT95 fluid transfer

Hi all, Can anyone tell me why my gearbox fluid on my LT95 keeps moving to the transfer box. If I run around for a few hundred miles my gearbox is low and transfer box is overfull. Whats the solution? ta

    Greenlaning nr Guildford?

Did you find one Steve, Halfords have a cheapie Halfords | Halfords 5 Drawer Tool Centre Only problem is its Halfords so it's most likely made of old biscuit tins stuck together with celotape. I hooked my tool chest out of a skip. Saw it in there, went and spoke to the owner and he told me to...

The Big Debate - Britpart or S**tpart?

My pedal rubbers lasted about 3.5 seconds until I tried to bend the metal tabs around the pedals and every single one snapped off. I wasn't doing tight bends either.

    Snapped Heater Plug!!

Last time I had a snapped glow plug it was on my mercedes. I welded a tap to a long handle and tapped the hollow tube of the plug to a suitable size. Wound a bit of threaded rod into the glow plug. Big weight with a nut on top of the threaded rod and used it like a slide hammer to pull the plug...

    Backlash woes!

Yeah I reckon that will reduce it a lot. By the time a small amount of play at the drive member has gone through the diff the transfer box and the gearbox it equals a lot of movement at the clutch end. When I was checking what the issue was I had my dad in the landy running it in 1st and...

    Backlash woes!

I had really bad backlash to the point of making it horrendous to drive. I thought It was a clutch issue until I looked into it. I replaced all four drive members and it made a MASSIVE improvement. I didn't touch the halfshafts.

Anyone ever done a nuts and bolt rebuild when trying to change a bulb?

Bit off topic but the wife asked me to fix a loose wall tile in the kitchen. A couple of hours later I had all the tiles off the wall. The cupboards and base units out. Cooker and sink out. Floor up. I don't know what happened. I took the tile off the wall and kinda kept going. I get the...

    Rear propshaft fell off

Have you got a pic? Which bits fallen apart? If the cups have come out and the joints fell apart then the circlips can't have been in correctly. If one of the yokes have broken then either it was damaged when the old uj seized or somethings damaged it pressing the old uj out or the new one in...

    Self rescue

It is nice being able to help yourself rather than wait for Mr AA. I recovered a couple in a brand new disco yesterday. They ran it real low on fuel and went and filled up, but on the long drag uphill into farnham it must have sucked the tank dry before they filled it so it cut out. I towed...

Just got a landrover defender and it fails to start

If it's rattling it just means the engines still running "a good thing" I wouldn't mind betting a bit of that rattle goes away when the engines warm. Appart from that. Engine mounts. Body panels rattling. Exhaust hitting the body work? It doesn't look like anything to worry about to me. You...

Shall I swap this Series for my Defender

I went from series to 110. I did like the series and you do miss them when they go. BUT I have to admit I did find it hard going using it often. It's very physical driving the thing and to be honest quite tiring. I was alway pooped after a days laning.

    New shocks Delphi or Koni

haha... I was swaying towards the Konis anyway, it didn't take much. Now if the first comment had been "Konis are awful" I might have re-considered.

    New shocks Delphi or Koni

Hi all, Gonna treat the 110 to some new shocks as the ones currently fitted are of an unknown quantity, but I'm really undecided on which ones. Really I want to buy once. Fit and forget. I'm getting tired of buying cheaper and having to do the job twice. I've narrowed it down to Delphi de...

    Crazy electrics...

You need some Holy water, a young priest and an old priest. Seriously though it sounds like something behind the instrument cluster. Thats where the wiring for most of those components congregate so I would be inclined to start there.

110 css self levelling rear dampers

Hi All, I'm thinking of treating myself to some new dampers. I've noticed that a few companies list a rear damper for vehicles fitted with self levelling rear suspension. Which mine has. Question is whats the difference between a standard damper and a unit for self levelling suspension. If...
