What did you do with your Range Rover today

Does your gauge stay stable in one position? I've noticed mine is all over the place but I also get fairly frequent faulty wiring codes for the viscous fan so my guess is that is sending temps all over the place.

That's the one I bought. The one in the motor is so trashed there's no chance of copying it. When I get this one I'll model it up in inventor and have a go at printing it. I will have to get some abs or a better hotend for my printer as pla will not be strong enough and my hotend won't go hot...

It was about 8 quid off ebay. I'll measure and model it before I fit and then I can have a go at printing one

The thing that puts me off 4 poster is that there's a lot in the way and you still have to jack up if you're doing anything that needs wheels off. That said, they do feel safer. Realistically I think I'm going to end up with a 2 post but if a 4 post presents at the right price I may go with it

OK, so the punt on the rear wiper motor turned out to be a waste of 30 quid. Very similar design but almost every part has a slight difference to the range rover one. Just ordered the replacement gears from ebay and will rebuild mine. Good news is, I had a quick look underneath to see which...

    P38A Anyone near Birmingham with a Nanocom/SyncMate for a 4.6 Thor?

Whereabouts in Birmingham are you. I'm in that area tomorrow briefly but I would have to dig out my nanocom first as I haven't used it in 4 years or so. I'm going to be west Bromwich way if that's close enough?

If you are ever up Lancashire way, kettle is always on and I'm happy to plug my gap in. Not sure what options are unlocked on a different vin but happy to try it if you're anywhere near

So, first decent trip last night to Northampton. 380 miles round trip. Computer showing 21.1mpg. Filled up this morning, took 63 ltrs which equates to around 27mpg. In orrid wet weather and pushing 90mph most of the way home I don't think that's bad.

I've just bought a brand new one off amazon for just over 30 quid. It's from an Audi a4 and looks like the same motor but different bracket. I was going to swap the bracket but this one is moulded so I might just take the innards out and fit them into mine. Secondhand motors seem to be going...

There are some aftermarket android units that claim to still have all the 4x4 info and clock setting capabilities but they are north of 400 quid and I've not seen many real life reviews yet. It's something I'm considering for mine but it needs to work properly or I'd rather fix the stock unit.

You can't on an 08 with gap iid. My head unit doesn't work so I had a look if I could do it but no. Well, unless it's buried somewhere non obvious in a menu.

Yup, factory head unit for all the trip settings. There are, I believe, some Android units that do everything on later models but not confirmed. I think if you have aftermarket you're stuck with how it is.

Clock and trip computer stuff is all set up on the main screen. The stalk just cycles through the various readings

So, what did we learn today about the new (to me) ride. 1. For a north of 140k 15yr old car she does drive remarkably well. Even the wife remarked how quiet it is and her daily is an electric car! 2. It still smells from being wet. (is dry now but I think the carpets need some shampooing to...

Actually drove mine finally. Still not out of the woods health wise but was sick of seeing it laid up at the unit. It's been outside now in all weather and touch wood appears dry inside now. New winter tyres on Tuesday then I'll get the alignment checked. Seems to drive really well. A number...

Why run through headlining space? I would run it under the carpet to the back then bring it up the rear posts.

    Gap iid tool query

Rule number 1 with gap iid or nanocom is never press anything unless you are 1 million percent certain what it does. These are powerful tools and damage can be done if you aren't careful
