I had to fit a replacement lear unit and clean up the connections in the plugs, sealed the rear quarter window that was allowing the smallest amount of water through (runs down the harness into the unit via the plug / socket)

I would think it will be caused by water ingress into the Radio module (rear left side of boot) I have repaired mine in the past
