I meant length in the complete loom. Again I need to take more time looking at diagrams and not rushing. I presumed the side I cut & spliced from C0223 wich was toward the rear of the vehicle, was the loom coming from the tansfer box (this was not the case, wich if I took the laptop out with me...

Yes I understand you fine & have done exactly as you have stated, but it still doesn`t work & I was wondering if there was another explanation as to why as like you say it should work. I can load a picture if you like ?

I have not cut the BU wire. I was merely pointing out if I were to cut it I could put heatshrink sleeving over it. I have cut Black/light green wire from pin 1 & then seperated the outer sheath using wire strippers on pin 39 blue /black wire Bu & twisted the cut BLG wire round the Blue/black...

Actually just tried earthing the BU wire with the BLG disconnected & although it lights up the dash light, moving it out of difflock doesn`t switch the dash light off.

Ok I have neither of those about at the moment & if the BU was cut & seperated I could heatshrink it. So what should I do now ? Do I retry twisting the wires together, or just make a new wire taken from the BU wire & earth it ?

Well I did have them twisted together before the BLG & BU that is. I attempted twisting the wires together & thought my first attempt maybe wasn`t good enough, so re done it & this didn`t work. The only thing bringing the lights on is by earthing them.

Right I put on a set of croc clips & earthed the switch with the wires still twisted together, this caused both the diff lock light & high temp light to illuminate on the dash. Next I tried untwisting the BLG wire from the BU wire & earthed the BU wire on it`s own & this brought on just the...

Yes the high temp light was on. I disconected the battery & then pulled the plugs out to get easier access & then cut pin 1 black/light green BLG wires & then with wire strippers seperated the sheath on black/blue BU wire & twisted it on. I will try earthing it & see if that brings it on.

No. I made sure the garbox temp light had come one as previously & all I have done is cut & splice those wires, whilst leaving the other wires still connected to the diff lock switch

Thanks for that. It doesn`t appear to be activating the dash light though. I have cut pin 1 & twisted the wire round pin 39 after using wire cut to seperate the outer sheath. I`m awaiting arrival of a new soldering iron before I can solder the joint.

Just an update in case this helps anyone in future. I`m glad Sierraferry told me to check wiring connector colours, to make sure I had the right one. Connector 047 was the second one down in my 03 non-difflock model & C067 was the top one. In the electrical library picture they are opposite way...

Mine is a manual model by the way. And Sorry I looked at the two connectors numbers at either end & mixed up the one I wanted. So the green/black wire that I connected to the CDL is the temp switch. Do I leave the green/black wire & the solid black one connected to the cdl switch & then on...

So if I`m right I can splice the green/black cdl switch wire into the blue black one on connector C0761-1 ?
