Yes your quite right I meant steering box. I did replace the drag link & ball joints before, but will recheck them. The drag link seems fine though. Also on the side of the steering box there seems to be another slotted bit. Is this also for adjustment ?

Whereabouts are you ? I made a transfer box plate that I welded up & can bolt to the side of the transfer box, whilst sitting in a standard trolley wich you could borrow if you are close enough. If you can weld though it won`t be difficult to make one up

Hi Andy, I just changed the lower pipe that runs from the reservoir by the air filter & down by the sump where it had rubbed through ( in no part due to Land rovers wisdom of using a bit of foam to keep that from happening :rolleyes: ) & it was quite easy to do if that was the one you meant ?

I can confirm the bread trick does work. It did take a couple of attempts though & I only changed it as I was doing the clutch & dmf too. If I remember correctly I slightly moistened the bread so it stuck in there better.

Thanks Sierraferry I have`nt had the pipe pop off again yet, but then I have mainly been keeping local & not using it as much. I will take a punt on those vauxhall clips for the sake of it as my better hlf has an astra anyway so they could always be handy to keep about. Thanks, Dan.
