I concur with Dave. Just swap it over. Done this before for the same reasons you've stated. Mileage can be changed but it's costly. ISTR it being around £100 but that was from a main stealer. So I didn't bother.

Britpart are , as if anyone expected any differently - ****e. I haven't even bothered to fit them. They feel cheaply made and the rubber is so soft the bearings move around too freely for my liking. I bought a set of Bearmach bearings instead. Completely different. Much better quality.

So basically, can I or can't I just remove the reluctor ring ?

They changed the sensors on later models. IIRC they are magnetic or something. The later sensors are blue where they join the loom under the bonnet instead of black. They don't work/fit with a reluctor ring on the driveshaft.

Cheers for the replies. My concern is that I do have abs, but I have only used driveshafts on my 04MY without the ring. I've no worries removing the ring, just as long as the abs will still work.

I have been sold a new driveshaft. However the vendor has sent one with the ABS ring. He says just to knock the abs ring off. Will this be ok ?
