TD5 abs cutting in over 60mph

We had a MkII jaguar until recently, and that came as standard with a chrome badge on the rear bumper proudly announcing it had front disc brakes :)

TD5 abs cutting in over 60mph

Yup have owned cars that had unservoed drums all round, was taught high speed driving techniques by South Yorks police for blue light runs in some pretty basic vehicles. Just thought that running with ABS sensors or sensor disconnected would potentially cause dangerous imbalances in the SLABS...

You're very brave, running around with ABS sensors disconnected etc. You must have the biggest set of balls on this site! Glad you fixed the problem. Respect :D

    Disco 2 air bag problem

Couldn't agree more, renewed the air springs on my Td5 on Wednesday new ones are Dunlop ones and cost £49 each. Was a piece of **** to do took less than an hour. Changing to coils here in France wasn't an option anyway as the vehicle wouldn't comply with its certificate of conformity and...

    Disco 2 air bag problem

Is it not in a position where he can change the bag himself ? I did both mine this morning and it really was the piece of **** that I had been told it would be, both done n dusted in less than an hour!

Yet more silly questions re air suspension

They are 13 yrs old! Bought the old girl off my sister who bought her new in Jan2002 and has not had new bags fitted but had a new compressor fitted last year? Perhaps she was mis-informed! Was planning to stick it on axle stand, slowly disconnecting olive at bag, then removing that cos the...

Yet more silly questions re air suspension

Ok, I've got the new air springs (call them black puddings here in frog land) and am planning to replace them next week. Before anyone says read the threads on here and elsewhere I have! But I have a couple of silly questions! Because the only flat area I have has limited access to one side...

Austin/Morris Mini - anyone clued up?

+1 Probably just a standard 998cc too! By that time the Chassis Number should be stamped in the rain channel surrounding the engine bay, just infront of drivers side of windscreen. Can recommend SC Parts, Mini-Sport and Minispares are fantastic if you decide to go for it!

Parts supplier ? Who do you recommend?

I can recommend Island 4x4. Very efficient, good value for money etc.

Thinking of buying a Disco 2, please help

Facelift D2s are very prone to having their headlights nicked (200+ quid each as apposed to 30quid each for pre facelift).

    Air springs, which is best?

Thanks I wouldn't have done that so very helpful advice, especially as I'm new to Disco ownership (since Feb this year). Much appreciated.

    Air springs, which is best?

Thanks for that, I had read that the air pipe was a push fit and not the screw fitting, but provided I get a clean square cut this should provide any problems? Also is it really as easy to change these things for a DIYer as other posts and threads suggest? I have no access to Hawkeye or Nanocom...

    Air springs, which is best?

Having decided that I need to change the air springs (or black puddings as they are known here in France) on my Disco 2, has anyone had any experience of the Dunlop ones sold by Island 4x4? They seem much cheaper than OEM ones, are they worth getting or should I pay the extra for the OEM ones?
