    Td5 Defender starting problem

Have you checked your Glow plugs and lift pump. Naturally I’m assuming your battery is good condition. Also, make sure you have a good clean connection on your fuel solenoid.

    Rear Shock Mount

Don’t be disappointed, your doing a bloody great job. Yes you can definitely improve and do a better job, we all can. But you are doing better than most so keep positive. Play around with the heat and wire speed, you are not far away! :)

    Electric Conversion....I don’t get it!!

I can understand the appeal of that. I suspect we will have to wait and see. Although I would be fibbing if I said I seriously believed adequately EV infrastructure will be in place for mass charging within the next 20 years. However I am always happy to be proven wrong. If or when there are...

This is the link.... https://www.autocar.co.uk/opinion/electric-cars/hydrogen-overhyped-it-depends This also an interesting read, though the source is highly dubious. https://www.hotcars.com/heres-why-hydrogens-better-battery-powered-electric-vehicles/ However, I acknowledge I am not versed...

    Electric Conversion....I don’t get it!!

At source... I was referring to the point of delivery and efficiency of EV. I wouldn’t even begin to argue that I fully understand the whole process. EV vehicles have an advantage as this technology as undergone an awful lot of R&D over the past 20/30 years and has progressed unmeasurably, but I...

    Positive review of new defender

I was referring to overall quality, but I agree with you points. However, my wife's brand new Range Rover Evoque was in the garage 18 times in less than two years with persistent electrical issues, mainly with the Sat Nav and media centre. They eventually end up replacing the media unit and...

    Electric Conversion....I don’t get it!!

Seriously, are you seriously suggesting you have never had an issue finding a charging point? I can log on to my ChargeCar and Pod-Point App now and guarantee the vast majority are off or are having technical difficulties. I disagree, there is far more scope to deliver a Hydrogen...

    Electric Conversion....I don’t get it!!

I agree with almost all of this. However, whilst don't dispute these changes will come, honestly cannot see them becoming truly mainstream in the next 20 years. That said, my ignorance may well be as a result of lack of understanding. If I am honest I am interested in learning about solar...

    Positive review of new defender

It is important to be honest, it is only a Defender in name. Therefore we cannot realisticly compare this latest model with the original Series and Defenders because naturally it will be far superior in many aspects. I was luck to test drive one just prior to the 3rd Lockdown, when my wife's...

best place to buy a project defender 130 or 110

In my opinion, the 200TDI and 300TDi are the better engine option. I know others will disagree, but I had nothing but issues with my TD5’s electrics. Naturally I can only speak from personal experience, but all my 200/300TDI have a far more reliable engine.

    300TDi Turbo/Intercooler hose

Brief update. Still awaiting the new turbo and fuel hoses. However having used @lynall suggestion of temporary bodge with a brass straight though connector what a remarkable difference in performance. It’s like a completely different vehicle. Not only does pull away effortlessly, it now glides...

    Oil leak ... help .. td5

That's not an oil leak, that’s a feature of a Land Rover :p it could be coming from your rear crank seal which is a common problem on a vehicle of this age. Not overly complicated to sort out.

    Electric Conversion....I don’t get it!!

I know, I agree and don’t need any persuasion of that position. But I can also appreciate the argument that all of those things you mentioned improve ‘something’ and therefore is it right to ask for the regression of them to prolong the undetermined life span of the planet. Effectively, do we...

    Electric Conversion....I don’t get it!!

Or not. I am most definitely NOT a climate change denier, unquestionably it is changing and we should actively look to improve things. But, and it’s a BUT. Should it really be at the expense of human comforts and living standards? I don’t know, I’m leaning towards it should be, but something...
