I love my Range Rover but… (coil springs)

I've been through this process. Check: Height sensors Compressor, valve block, driver pack ecu under front lh seat. That's a start.

    Range Rover lettering

Hi All, Just been on that famous website looking for a complete set of "Range Rover" (x2) and "4.6 HSE" in that rather elegant charcoaly black. Not having much joy getting the 4.6 .... Any ideas?

    traction control

The error reporting by the abs is quite good and will point to sensors, brake switch and abs pump pressure sensor amongst others. So, it really is worth checking the codes before throwing parts at it. Next step would be to check the obvious like loose wheel sensors, poor connections etc. ABS...

    Air Conditioning

Just a note from a hot country .... when anyone says: "The a/c isn't working very well it just needs a bit of gas..." In my experience this is not true and there is a definite leak, not just "seepage" of gas over the years. Re gassing might last a week or so. So, don't waste money on the gas...

    Opening tailgate, broken button??

This can be caused by a failing front right door latch -- have you had any problems with door locks working by themselves?

    Is it safe?

Don't hold back with these height sensors .... slight faults in the tracks are to some extent allowed for by the software but these faults can also cause the car to settle overnight leading to false diagnosis of other eas faults.

    Springs over Air

Gen IIIs + oem shocks + new suspension bushes = joy. I did the bushes last but wish I'd done them earlier; I thought that the steering box was on the way out but it was the bushes. 13 years old and now drives like a car (in the good sense).

Covert LHD to RHD --- madness? (long post)

I forgot ther dash - I'd probably get a wrecked P38 for bits like that. BECM is in the same place. Not sure about the ABS?

Covert LHD to RHD --- madness? (long post)

Hi All, I really would like to bring back my 2001 HSE to the UK in a few years. It has a new engine from Turners and things are almost 95% on it. Now, I've driven LHD cars in UK and didn't find too much trouble, but what if I converted to RHD? I can think of: Steering box and links...

    Failed her MOT today

I just had both mine done - twice. The first time the oil seals got damaged somehow and had to be replaced, so care is needed when pulling the half shaft out or the seal will be damaged by the splines. Best to fit a new seal, I think. Then, be careful when removing and refitting the abs...

    Air to Spring Conversion

I'm just back from a moderate mountain trip. Other car was a Prado. P38 much more comfortable and the other driver had a sore back (apart from other comparisons which are not fair on the Prado). For longer trips I take spare air bags, height sensors, o rings, splicing bits etc etc.

Thinking of up grading to a L322

Look out! I have an XC90 and a 2001 gorgeous V8 P38 ..... absolutely no comparison between the two. The XC90 is just a "nice car" where the P38 is totally involving and magical ... What's good about the XC90? Plenty of airbags, easy to drive, reasonably comfortable ... nice to look at. 7...
