Autobox speed sensor -- help please

I agree totally -- if I go to the workshop tomorrow, what on earth do I say to the guy? He says that he's had an auto electrician check all the power ... how can I check the xyz switch? The cable that connects under the centre console sounds favourite -- is the connector above the box but below...

Autobox speed sensor -- help please

Right, the Auto Box workshop is good ... made a very good impression. They have now checked all the wiring outside the box and are going to remove it to see the speed sensor inside ..... just in their hands now. Thank heavens that labour is reasonable here ...

Autobox speed sensor -- help please

Yes, I think it starts in a high gear, seems to be wanting to change up, then makes a harsh gearchange into 4th. Doesn't lock up into direct drive.

Autobox speed sensor -- help please

Right, just run the Nancom again and it shows fault P0722 stalling speed. Rave says torque convertor slipping. Surely not, doctor?

Autobox speed sensor -- help please

Thanks, chaps. That means that there is no actual damage within the bell housing? Off to a "specialist" in the morning ..... at least I know that they won't be pulling the box. Possibly the xyz switch damaged? Thanks again, really appreciated.

Autobox speed sensor -- help please

Hi All, Saga continues with gearbox in limp mode. Workshop have checked all the wiring to the box and now think that it is the speed sensor from the torque converter to the box not working, so that the box doesn't know what to do ..... Reaction is to start blaming the workshop because they...

Auto box in limp home mode?

No, it doesn't show any letters and also the sport switch does nothing. The workshop are willing enough to look at it (as they should!), but they did mumble something about solenoids which I rebuffed as strongly as I could. I'm sure you are right - just something disturbed .... isn't it? :)

Auto box in limp home mode?

Hi all, Just had some work done to the engine where the gearbox was removed, or at least, moved back from the engine. Just today shortly after driving off, the car revved a lot then went into the next gear with a thump and showed gearbox fault. I think it is in 3rd gear. Diagnostics shows a...

    Nanocom Queries for the experts.

Although it doesn't fully address your quest, if you change the Region it will switch off a part of the alarm / disabling system and you will have no EKA code. Mine is set to Australia (I think) and I don't have an EKA code, and I believe it makes life simpler and reduces the likelihood of...

    Diagnostics

Aha! Thought it was the MSV Extreme .... I'll go back to sleep now! Nanocom dead easy - just connect up and go, after inserting the licence codes. Just don't "write" any changed settings unintentionally.
