Hang in there! The fix looks straightforward, even I think I could do it! If it is any comfort, my P38 had a gearbox fault which the guys on the board here insist was a broken signal cable .... ended up costing me USD 1,000 for a box overhaul. Cheers.

Yes, maybe - I didn't go to see if they actually removed the box and overhauled it. They said they replaced or serviced the pump, clutches etc ... If I dwell too much on it it will gnaw away at me! On - on .... :) and looking forward to Europe in the summer!

Can you see which cable comes from the speed sensor at the back of the box? That would be useful to see ... how it comes through the transmission tunnel and off the the ecu. Cheers.

That's brilliant. I'm going to get it back from the auto box people before they remove the box ...... and take it back to the workshop which pulled the box last week. Surely they pulled the box and yanked a cable or three ...... just like you said. Wife says that the mechanics were looking...
