Getting USB and/or Bluetooth stereo working?

I've installed a GROM USB 2plus with the bluetooth receiver option. Connects in to and replaces the CD changer plug at the back of the head unit. It plays usb stick and which is overridden when you play via the bluetooth connection or receive a phone call. No need to touch the headunit at...

    Death wobble!?

Again, I hesitate to reply, but all I read when I had this problem on an earlier P38 said that the steering damper isn't a significant factor in a shake as serious as this. The problem was I think caused by the bushes -- poly comfort? but I was able to cure it partially by tightening the...

    Dead height sensor or not?

I just checked how I fixed mine. I used the link from a front sensor and held to the trailing arm with a jubilee clip. I aligned the rubberised eye of the link with the patch of rubber left where the original had been as well as I could, then checked all the suspension heights. Has been fine...

    Death wobble!?

From what i have read (and I have a very tiny wobble even in the mornings :)) it can be the sum of a little wear in all parts of the suspension and steering. Not much help, is it? Again, from reading, the single biggest contributors are the swivel hub joints. Possibly followed by worn...

    Dead height sensor or not?

You have to find the rubber "bracket" and fix it back to the trailing arm ...... either using an adhesive or, as I did, a jubilee clip carefully aligned. I prefer a mechanical fixing to glue, but that's just me, as there must be very good glues out there. Without the rubber bit you are stuck...

    Dead height sensor or not?

Ah, well, "remove" in this case would mean "break". I don't think that this particular piece of rubber (or whatever it is) perishes as such. Although mine came away in me 'and it was still flexible; it had come away before and been glued back. See if you can get to it and check.

    Dead height sensor or not?

The rear rubber mounts are bonded to the trailing arms. Well, they are meant to be bonded but don't seem to adhere very well. There is no pin and eye, unfortunately, like there is for the front ones.

    Dead height sensor or not?

Bife! The connectors are rubber and bonded to the trailing arms. I broke one of mine and have now clamped it back on with a jubilee clip. You need to trace exactly where the rubber bit was sitting by looking for a patch of the rubber left on the arm, then retrieve the broken off bit, align it...

    P38 - Air conditioning drainage

It is behind the side panel, top of transmission tunnel, at the engine end. You might be able to reach it, just, without pulling the panel.

    4.6 vs 2.5 tdi

What year is it? Front indicators have been changed - probably should be orange as it has the older fog lights. Make sure it is not because of an accident. GEMS engine.

    Anything i should lookout for

For the rear diff .. consider 2 new axle oil seals and also replacing the ujs at the same time. Have a look around the air bags and pipes while you are there. I've never done it, far too heavy for me!
