Well my steering wheel still refuses to budge. I've smacked the nut with a hammer. I've wobbled every bit of the wheel, I've yanked the wheel so much it feels like it's gona snap at the top. I've took a pic of the middle bit and can't even tell where it comes apart :/ In other news I drove...

There doesnt seem to be those holes at the side for one of those pullers. Ill have a go at smacking the nut though, although its only me able to have a go. Actually my dog is trainable, i could attach her rope toy to the wheel and she can pull that whilst I hammer the nut :D

Well I've tried for 2 days and the wheel ain't coming off. Bought a rubber mallet especially for the job. Ah well. Turned my Attention to the rear sliding windows as they seem to have a meadow growing out the rails. Cleaned them up and got one window open but not the other. Can I spray...

Thanks. I had thought I wonder if I could put a spacer on the spare tyre holder so will look at that and the swing away wheel carrier. I didn't get time to change and straighten the wheel last night but will have a go this afternoon. Glad I didnt as none of the guides i had seen online...

Thanks thats great info! :) I think some of those jobs are defo out of my league at the moment. Especially as I have real trouble getting nuts/bolts off. If the mechanic agrees that the range rover classic axles are ok to stay on it that should save alot of money for a start off! Ill take...

I only could get my torque wrench on it as I dont have jackstands or a proper way of getting under it. I am hoping the garage has sorted that side. He never mentioned it as such but i asked him did he see the stoved in bolts and he said yes. Ill be able to check tonight when I pick it up.

Well Landy has been to the garage. No report of it being a ringer or cut and shut so that's good. but that's about the only good news. Front and Rear Axles he thinks are from a Range Rover classic and not a defender. and due to that the shocks face the wrong way (i think he said) Rear hub seal...

 is there a h & s list anywhere of what not to do. I nearly belted myself when I took off wrong end of grease gun as well. I had no idea they had a strong spring in them. As for landy, I got propshaft on finally. But unfortunately the nuts on 2 of the captive bolts that were a bit...

Took that side apart and redid it. Couldn't get it to a way that both ends had enough room on the clips. Unlike the other 3 axis. Did best I could and it's slightly looser not much. Then went to grease it all but since I've never used a grease gun I dunno what I'm doing wrong. Watched...

I'll have a check in the morning. I think I will redo the positioning of that axis in that joint as out of all the circlips that one didn't seem to open as much as the others .

Thanks for all the help. What worked was putting the yoke on top of a 27mm socket, then a smaller hammer balanced on the top then Smacking that hammer with a bigger hammer. Seen that on, a YouTube video. Spent the next few hours cleaning up the yokes and propshaft then this evening putting ujs...

Yeah. Bought a pair today when I was buying a g clamp . If I can get as far as installing the new ujs they will make that clip bit easier !

    1993 Defender 90

Yep all clips out. Watched quite a few videos on removing ujs now. This joint I'm trying to remove looks a bit rusty and is wobbling all over the place so is the bust one . Is my best bet to buy a bench vice tomorow and a length of pipe as a breaker bar for the handle ? If do what type of...

Any tips on how to get stuck ujs out ? Nearly broke my hand trying to turn my g clamp handle. I haven't got a desk vice that opens far enough . :/

Mounting points on the door aren't there. On some it's just a hole. I watched the video where he drills a little hole in the plastic then puts a screw in so can try that on some bits . Not sure what to do with the holes. On more positive news my new ujs arrived so I set about cleaning all the...

I finally fixed a few issues! Replaced door latch and door barrel and can now close the driver door properly and can lock that door as well. So for first time in a few weeks my landy is relatively secure! Haven't refitted the door card as the previous owner snapped all the fastners so I need...

Does anyone know how to get that silverish screw out ? I think.the back of the door handle is stopping me from putting the new latch in. I finally got they screw to turn but it is just turning and not coming out at all. Edit: did it ! Well I got the latch in finally. And it hasn't fixed...

    1993 Defender 90

Ah right so for normal driving the little stick should always be in the high position (or just not in low)? Bridge Cameras can get some decent stuff. I had a Nikon p900 as a walk around camera when I couldn't be bothered bringing my proper stuff and if there was decent light and the subject...
