Starts and runs perfectly when hot with not a trace of smoke. When cold it takes several attempts, runs ragged for a few seconds and smokes then clears almost straight away. Replaced the glow plugs but to no avail. It's a td4 facelift with the BMW engine. Also has the BMW breather replacement...

Camshaft sensor or camshaft position sensor?? I'm in England without the freelander but in a position to call in at a landy dealer, luxury, car runs smooth as silk but has started being a bad starter from cold. Rather than buy a new set of injectors I want to replace one or both of the above...

There seems to ba a new diagnostic tool sold by Rimmer Brothers. Will that find problems such as cam and other sensors? I am in England at the moment in the motorhome, so could go and buy one. All the best:)

There's a garage near Bellac, 'the English garage' they are very good and not over expensive. Their number I will find and pm you but I'm out in the motorhome at the moment, a friend was quoted around four grand to replace a Saab engine, they towed it from the French garage she had taken it to...

Facelift runs as smooth as silk but starting in the morning has just become a nuisance. Fitted new glow plugs and replaced updated BMW breather. Didn't know it already had one. So looks like the injectors. LR or OEM and where from please, or is there mileage in getting them refurbished??:(

You got that right west slope, none of em know what a gear lever is for. Anybody can drive a dodgem. Even those not up to being labelled average! :)

Yeh, but cause a problem when one of those bits drop off and you get the book thrown at you, then there's all the litigation to follow!;)

It's great up there. I used to commute up that neck of the woods quite a lot. Would love to get to that meet but will have to wait until next years big meeting is announced. Geordie is the best accent, all the ladies sound like Cheryl! :)

Is it a case of "if we can't plug a a diagnostic into it, so our semi skilled 'mechanics' can deal with it" they just don't want to know?
