    P38A Head gasket advice needed

Alright thanks to both of you! I've ordered some dye, should arrive tomorrow. I will also do a compression test. Fingers crossed! In case I'm doing the head gaskets, any advice on which brand to use? Britpart okay for this or not? Would like to keep the cost down as it's already going to be...

    P38A Head gasket advice needed

So this concerns my green 1999 p38 with 4l V8. It has been sat for 8 years before I acquired it. I just did some major service work and found a considerable amount of milk in de oil filler cap. Also tiny tiny bit in the drained oil. After changing oil and running the engine visible...

P38A Quick auto box service question

I don't know what you're talking about, it WAS a 100% deliberate flushing ploy. I have a service pit, so good access. Definitely would not want to do this on my back on a stretcher! But otherwise it's pretty easy, of you follow the instructions.

P38A Battery draining height sensors removed

Yeah I may do that as a temporary solution but prefer the RF filter as I don't like the idea of having to carry 2 fobs. Ofcourse its also extra theft protection...

Well that would explain it... I checked the manual, you're right! You need to do that with the engine idling. Thanks!

P38A Quick auto box service question

I never before owned a car with automatic transmission. I serviced the auto box on my 1999 green p38 (4.0 V8) today: - drain fluid - drop pan - change filter - reinstall pan - fill fluid - start car and go through gears - top up fluid Two things were very strange to me based on what I have read...

P38A Battery draining height sensors removed

I spotted Martyuk's RF filter and fancy one however its out of stock in his shop and he seems to be away for work since '21. The car I have this problem with is up for sale so I will just unplug the receiver. For my other one I think Martyuk's filter is the best option.

P38A Battery draining height sensors removed

Happy yo see that other here also think it's the battery rather than the car that's the problem. Hopefully the store sees it the same way. Issue is that I've bought it online so I can't physically go back and complain. Been 2 weeks now and their customer service transferred my request to the...

P38A Battery draining height sensors removed

Hi all, Thanks for the input! I have reinstalled the height sensors (changed one for a fecked one from my green P38), jumpstarted the car using the green p38 and let it run for half an hour. Then back on the trickle charger for 72 hours. Trickle charger is a fancy expensive one with...

P38A Battery draining height sensors removed

I have reinstalled the height sensors. Unfortunately the battery is properly f****d. 24h on a trickle charger to no avail. Now trying to reach out to the store where I bought it for warranty (if that exists for batteries). Can I just remove the EAS ecu without the other ecu's acting up? I...

P38A Battery draining height sensors removed

This concerns my 1999 p38 2.5 dse Weird issue. The car is on coil springs and EAS compressor and valveblock have been removed. Last weekend I thought I'd harvest some EAS parts of the car for my other p38 because I'm going to sell the car. Removed the 2 front height sensors. Now, the battery...

    My 1999 Ranger Rover P38 4.0 V8

In this thread I will present my green RR P38 with the 4 liter V8 engine. I came across this car while looking for a cheap car to tow a trailer with for a few months, at the same time I found the orange P38 you see in the picture. I didn't act upon it as it needed work to get it in the road, and...

    Hello there!

Hi there, just joined the forum so I will quickly introduce myself. I'm Arno and I've recently had the joy to experience Land Rover ownership for the first time. I have now four Land Rovers, of which only one is sort of working. I have +10 years experience with working on VW cars but completely...
