Made myself a pair of roof bars after work yesterday, got to get the kayak from a to b in the near future. The bars are stainless thin wall gas pipe, and I made the uprights from some kind of 20mm engineering plastic (may be delrin?) Either way it holds a thread nicely and should be durable...

Had an hour or two after work Saturday to sort out some wiring. Started by wiring in the winch, I tucked everything in the bit by the ECU where the jack should live, hopefully it stays somewhat dry While I was buggering about under the dash I noticed why my back power windows don't work...

Yo, I managed to sort the clutch on my D2 after problems following slave cylinder replacement and thought I’d share. I’d been having problems bleeding the clutch, if you left it overnight with the pedal wedged down it would be ok for a while but you’d slowly lose the ability to change gears...

Alright, the police came back and said they found everything to be in order, so that's nice. :rolleyes: I welded the winch cradle to the bumper this evening Then hit it with some primer (I promise one day this will be painted properly...) Looks nice tucked up under there I think And...

Tried to snap it in half today. Didn't work. :D Had a nice day out with the dog doing some greenlaning. It's been a while... And the shackle holes in the bumper turned out to be useful moving a log that was blocking the trail. Dog approves of this XL stick Nice to be out...

Yeah let me know if you want the dimensions for the mounting plates I made, most of them should be on the picture of the cardboard drawings anyway… I’m assuming the D2 and D1 frames are pretty similar at the front

Thanks to @auld duffer for the tip in another thread, turns out Tiger Seal is great at hiding crimes against welding. :D In my defence, i had to use a monster MIG with 1mm wire as no fewer than two smaller machines just wouldn't play ball. Nearly there for the MOT :confused:

That’s some fine metalwork right there :cool: The U-POL sealant/adhesive in the cartridge? Sounds like I don’t need to buy seam sealer again :D
