Disco 2 Water in fuel warning light.

The connector is probably still there and just tucked up somewhere - it may be full of muck causing an occasional short.

Disco 2 "Hot smell" after hard driving

Mine usually smells a bit hot after it's been working hard (eg towing the caravan). Never worried me in 50,000 miles.....

Disco 2 Allways having to enter AEK to get going.

d2 boys club has such a list. Well worth joining (free) anyway.

Disco 2 Climate control blowing BOTH hot and cold air

The face level vents always seem to blow colder than the foot ones - I assume it's designed that way to keep you awake..... I tend to select air direction manually but leave the rest on auto. I quite often find I need to close the face vents almost completely to avoid getting cold hands......

Disco 2 ODB Connector Location / Unknown Electrical Plug

I've actually taken the plastic panel off as it was quite worn and the diagnostic plug just used to push through it. Drove me mad. I can't see any need for the panel. I've cable tied the cable going to a convenient place so it doesn't get in the way.

    Disco 2 A little help

You really need to tell the BCU that it doesn't have air any more (via nanocom / hawkeye).

Disco 2 What to look for on a TD5 viewing this weekend?

I wouldn't go to a dealer for a sub-£3,000 car. Remember they have to make some money on it, pay for storage / servicing etc so that's immediately £500 knocked off what you pay. And at that level any warranty will be minimal. I know you have slightly better protection from a dealer but I'd...

    Disco 2 Rave TD5

    Disco 2 D2 Fob / Alarm issues

It is the de-icing I was looking for and TBH it'll just be on the drive in front of the house. I do accept your point however.....

    Disco 2 D2 Fob / Alarm issues

Very handy - saved for (hopefully not) future reference. I've just added a Rover 75 key fob to mine as a second spare. I was hoping to use it to activate the "bathrobe" option as it's getting colder but have discovered that only works with a key in the door so will have to get one cut. It was...

^^ what he said. But it does mean driving around with the door card off till you do it.

Disco 2 EKA code, where to get it!

Not as daft as it sounds - if you hold the fob to your head your skull acts like an amplifier and the fob will work from further away. I thought this was absolute rubbish till I tried it.....

    Disco 2 Heated washer jets?

But they're for testing engine antifreeze not screen wash stuff..... They actually test specific gravity and I have no idea what that should be for screenwash additive.

    Disco 2 Heated washer jets?

Good question but AFAIR it's 50%. But then it's been in quite a while..... Probably time to bung some more in, although what often happens is you get a bit of snow on top of the jets that then freezes blocking them. Not yet in sunny Brum of course.

    Disco 2 Heated washer jets?

I have the D3 ones but the whole lot freezes overnight and takes a while to thaw out....... Using the coolant hose to heat the piping is OK but doesn't work till the engine heats up.

Disco 2 On the hunt for a disco - what to look for?

I think you can expect some faults on a vehicle which will be at best over 10 years old. The one thing that would definitely make me walk away would be extensive rust (not just surface) in the chassis. My experience is that once serious corrosion starts you can only ever slow it down....
