well i managed to find an engine yesterday , was about 75 miles away from me so took the tired steed to go and get it just need to get round to swapping it now , still waiting for my nanocom to arrive to sort the other one out so think i will be waiting for that first and get the other one...

Cheers chaps just opens up options as soon as my nanocom arrives and I can get my early one running again the later one will be having its engine pulled as it has a rather large amount of piston blowby and is getting a bit sluggish especially when it sees a hill and the oil gets thick between...

I know the fuse boxes are different as I have an early and late P38 just didn't know if it would be a case of of the engine loom being different and swapping a engine with loom or if it would be the whole lot to go with it if that's the case will find a egr engine

Is it possible to put a non egr engine in the later 99 onwards P38 without much hassle or is it a case that loom and ecu are all different ? There seems to be a lot more early engines for sale than later ones, and egr's are a pain and normally get blanked off anyway ;)

The other one is on springs so it was just in there taking up space , and the parts from it fixed that issue , just typically being a landrover you fix one thing and something else happens;)

Well the price of the nanocom and the fuse box alone is more than what I paid for it , luckily I had my other P38 air suspension bits to fix that issue so that was a free fix

Hope all gets sorted pretty sharpish and your on the mend soon :)

Is much appreciated;) once I have the new one I will get round to repairing both of my old ones properly then will have a early and late diesel one sat there good to go :cool:

Is mad we was waiting 3 months for a daf engine ecu ended up having to swap ECUs over from a different one to get the other running at one point I think our local stealer had 20 on back order for customers with no ETA and a general wait of around 3-4 months

After ringing nearly every LR parts people I could find in the UK crnw was the only person to have one in stock and nobody had an ETA on a new one as they are on back order so seem to have the last new one ever, or so it seems on its way :cool:

That's more than I paid for the whole truck :eek: will get hold of crnw tomorrow as they say stock everyone else seems to be available to order from LR

There is 2 for the diesel early and late mine is the early one that I need think the part number is AMR6477 that I need to find

So I finally pulled my finger out and have ordered myself a nanocom probably a wise move really owning 2 p38's , I have been on the lookout for a new fusebox but land rover have no ETA on one and struggling to find one in stock elsewhere , anybody got a suggestion as to where I can find one ...

if you do the gearbox service check the connecter sleeve for the plug as the tend to go on the bmw stuff
