P38A P38 Oil switch connector clip

That‘s exactly my issue , i have no idea what they’re called or where to find them. I naively assumed i could find one on eBay or elsewhere. Can‘t get one from a breakers as yet, guess the connector is just too small an item to be worthwhile…… the hunt will continue 🤣 Thank you, I will have...

P38A P38 Oil switch connector clip

Normally I'd be straight in with the zip ties but I've put everything back together so it's a pita to get to with my big sausage fingers :) My searching does make me wonder if there's anywhere to get connectors for these sort of things other than a junk yard! It's sort of similar to the metal...

P38A P38 Oil switch connector clip

Hi Guys, Can anyone help? I was changing the front cover gasket on V8 4.0 Thor. When disconnecting the pig tail from the oil pressure switch I managed to ping the little metal 'clip' securing the connector across the drive never to be found again. I have searched high and low on the internet...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Today was new front cover and oil sump gasket to fix a small annoying leak. Decided I definitely don't like lying on my back in driving rain getting covered in oil. PITA of a job ;)

Hi Guys, i am in the process of changing the front timing cover on my 2002 V8 Thor. Starting to put everything back together. Now I know this is a numpty question but can’t for the life of me work out how the cam sensor bracket holds the cam sensor onto the cover. Have googled but can’t find...

SRS Airbag deployment - advice on next step please

I soldered this one in the end which has worked fine. It is 1.5ohm 2 watt. You will also need a replacement SRS ECU. I got a cheap second hand one of eBay. Pretty easy to install. It’s under the centre console. A few good diy guides out there. You need one that hasn’t been fired so worth...

P38A Air con pipe leak / repair

In case anyone comes across this post looking for a similar problem, It is much easier than first thought. I popped in a new low pressure line from expansion valve in firewall to compressor and high pressure line from expansion valve to a joint approx half way to compressor, Bit fiddly to get to...

P38A Air con pipe leak / repair

Thank you @Andy Burrell. I jumped the gun a bit and on further investigation there is a join at the bulkhead going in to the evaporator so won't need to get after the dash. Hopefully should be reasonably easy to swap the pipe out with a new one now. Looking forward to some cool air :)

P38A Air con pipe leak / repair

Hi Guys, I have a 2002 P8 4.0. The air con has sprung a leak in the pipe as it runs along the firewall at the back of the engine bay before going down into dash and the evaporator. I can hear it hissing out and think it is the low pressure pipe. It looks like a mother of a job to replace the...

    P38A Air con regas

Thank you for your help :) I really have no idea on aircon systems although happy to learn. My motto is how hard can it be ;) Having said that would you recommend researching the topic and having a go or is it a big pain in the @@@@ and simpler to pop to a garage to at least diagnose ( I assume...

    P38A Air con regas

Hi, A bit of advice would be much appreciated. My air con on 2002 P38 hasn't worked for a few years but as it has generally been a "working" vehicle ( and fantastic ) it wasn't a priority. Over the last year I have spent many enjoyable hours getting her back to her former glory. The last bit of...

    P38A Blend motor codes

Hi. I would like to pick the brains of the P38 experts please :) After sorting out my heater matrix o-rings and putting everything back together the driver's side heating isn't working. Quick scan gave the fault codes in the attached pic. Before diving in I wondered if anyone had any thoughts...

    P38A Heater matrix o-ring / pipes - advice needed !

Sorry didn’t explain very well. It is an epoxy especially for sealing metals, plastics etc where water is involved and is designed to cope with very high pressures and temperature. You just apply a little on the outside of the surface area where the leak is. Absolutely nothing going in the...

P38A How to disassemble wing mirror to spray paint

Thanks guys. In the end I thought it was too much of a faff as you both say so masked everything up. Pleased with how they’ve turned out, a lot smarter than the two smashed ones they replaced !
