    p38 diesel injectors

I'm going to put the heat shield/nozzle retainers in the lathe and remove the deposits from the chamfered area before reassembly, otherwise, there is no reason why these injectors won't be good as new after replacing the nozzles. There is no visible wear on any parts, not even the needle shafts...

next the nozzle body. The one with the heavy deposits is No. 5. The one with the lesser deposits is No. 3. No. 3 had a blockage in the injector body itself so once I cleared it it prob would have been fine.

    p38 diesel injectors

Ok so now I have taken some pics of the needles themselves. Its a bit tough with a phone, I do have a microscope with a camera but I really don't want to put diesel in it. If you look close you will see that the pointy end isn't evenly round. That's the 'stuff' that was clogging it.

next I'm showing you the glazing on the heat shields/valve retainer. I assure you, these injectors are dry the shine you see is the deposit left from the fuel used. I really believe this was home made bio diesel methynol based.

    P38 Rescue

yeah..contamination in injector 5 and heavy deposits sticking the needles in so no spray. This problem has more to do with the fuel he ran in it than dyi to be fair to the guy, but thats as far as Im gonna be kind to him LOL. Im discussing the injectors in another thread if ya want a look...the...

    p38 diesel injectors

now metalurgy is something I know as an horologist, to anneal you need to heat it as you say but let it air cool slowly to soften it. If you dump it in water you will harden. ty for the advice guys. cracked two of the offending and found no 5 had a blockage in the body preventing diesel getting...

    p38 diesel injectors

ty for that but I dont have a choice. The whole fuel system has been destroyed by what I suspect was methynol based biodiesel. injectors 3,4,5 have siezed and all injectors are coated with some sort of corrosion. Its rebuild or buy a new set at ...well I dont have t tell you how much they cost...

Advice requested after losing licence due to medical reason

found that drift drivers name. Its Bartek Ostalowski and I was wrong, he is polish. there are some you tube vids of him driving. pretty inspiring stuff! The way I see it, if he can do that and compete, then you have grounds to at least argue your case to take part in pay and play somewhere maybe...

    p38 diesel injectors

Im about to rebuild mine and thought I would ask if anybody has don it yet as Im a little worried there may be pitfalls with injector 4. I had a look on bosch web site and they recommend that you change the nozzles every 50,000 miles and the injector bodies every 100k but that seems a bit...

    P38 Rescue

ok so I rebuilt the head, lapped the valves, changed the seals etc. and still no start. I was getting smoke from 1,2, and six nothing out of 3,4, &5. So I turned it over a few times and pulled out no. 3 and sure enough, dry as a bone :/ I also discovered that the fuel pump relay burned out so I...

when I first got mine it was showing 'immobilized' on a reader. Its a 97 dse. there was no fuel anywhere. none at filter or after that....obviously. I found in tank pump dead.Replaced that pump and still no fuel at injectors...still reads ...immobilized and wont turn over, however, i had fuel...

    Range rover wont start

lmao...I know the feeling! the P38 is turning out to be quite the beast to sort out! What he means is the immobilizer may be on as sometimes the engine comp and body computer get out of sync with each other and do nasty things to you just for fun. And as this type of problem comes up often, he...
