    Bottle Jack seals

Mine was gone long time ago - it only travelled half height and it's the only hydraulic jack that I ever had a problem with. Still have it in the garage for posterity though :) Now its space under the bonnet is taken up by several bits and pieces including spare bulbs and a multimeter.

    Bottle Jack seals

No need for that Stan. You can but a 2T bottle jack and a pair of folding axle stands for a few quid.

    Disco 2 Rear AC install

May I ask the MY of your D2 ? I have 2 different copies of the electrical library but I'm unable to locate C0483-13 in the circuit diagrams, which is very unusual for RAVE. But there were changes to the wiring looms and colour schemes over time. For instance C0483 used to be 14 pin before they...

    Disco 2 Rear AC install

The Cct column gives a reference to the circuits associated with the connector's pin or cavity. Don't have RAVE with me right now but there's an entry in the Connectors section that lists these circuits and their reference nos. So for the BG wire on that connector, you need to identify circuit #15

    Disco 2 Srs light

+1 The DCU uses separate pins & circuits for the airbags and pretensioners so it's virtually impossible to mix things up. A fault on the pretensioner circuit will result in a "Pretensioner Open Circuit" message.

Disco 2 Hub Assemblies - "OEM" vs Cheap

Wheel hubs are probably the only parts I buy from Britpart. They usually last up to 80 tkm and they always came with sensors.

If it helps, there are a few D2 TD5s available in Germany - https://www.theparking.eu/used-cars/land-rover-discovery-td5-germany.html https://www.ooyyo.com/germany/used-land+rover-discovery-for-sale/c=CDA31D7114D3854F111BFE6FBA0E355B33A21D7FD9D489B41608F54EBD/

Disco 2 Abs sensor torque setting

The Allen bolt should be tightened to 18Nm. Also don't forget the O-ring that acts as a spacer and a seal, which (in theory ??) should be replaced.

There a good write up with picture here - https://landroverforums.com/forum/discovery-ii-18/discovery-2-auto-r380-manual-swap-79203/ From what I can see, it's possible but not for the faint hearted :( Best of luck and please keep us in the loop with your progress.

    Bleeding brakes

Does this mean that the problem could have been avoided if he only did power bleeding ? I'm asking because apart from the modulator, servo and the master cylinder, I did change all braking system components and never had this problem. But I always bled the system electronically.

Disco 2 Brake disks guide screw

Besides too much torque, most of those retaining screws are ruined because they are mistaken for Phillips. On the head, you will note 4 markings in addition to the main cross which means that it's a Pozidriv screw.

Disco 2 Comma MVATF OK for autobox?

Don't know about ATF but most likely yes. It's been 2 years since I used it for the power steering which ran dry due to a sudden HP pipe rapture and no issues so far. I didn't even have to change the pump.

    Advice re new engine

I have no knowledge of the D4 engine but can't help thinking that something is off here. All the cases of piston slap that I came across build gradually and do not just announce itself with a sudden "loud banging". I am more inclined to say it's a crankshaft failure but wait for other more...
