What years are typically better on the rot front? Considering a very early Jag engined L322 mostly for its safety rating vs a D2 and lower price than a V8 D3.

Depends what you want it for really. A disco is a nicer place to be but not as utilitarian and if what you really want is a defender it’s obviously not that.

Think it’s just that the values have gone a bit daft. Could consider a disco I guess?

I suppose if it’s had a new chassis and new body panels not much of relevance has been carried over? Would have to be very cheap though.

I had my D1 polybushed, I’d choose OEM if I have to do anything in the future. Stopped the wobble though.

You can fit D2 headlights, they go straight in. Don’t remember if they made any difference but liked the look of them. The loom was a huge upgrade for mine.

I was always very careful not to park on anyone’s drive for that very reason. Outside of any issues they didn’t lose much but you could often see where they had been.

Is the oil coming out of that hole? I believe in the manual it does say something along the lines of it should be removed to allow oil to drain or something like that. My understanding is they should be left out unless wading but may be wrong there. I’m not sure if anyone here has a 200tdi...

Would agree. SLS is a great feature of the car in my opinion but plenary change to coils and plenty are happy with their choice.
