cheers, i'll have a root through my grandads old tools i have, he was a mechanic and i think there might be some imperial stuff in there, probably sockets though rather than spanners. i'll order some new nuts as well

and i forgot to mention i did look at the back of the drum and its like the TD5's , the cable goes into the back of the drum rather than having a lever.

Hi, could you try Irwin bolt extractors if there is enough meat on the outside of the fill plug? not sure it its flush or not. https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/5-piece-bolt-grip-set-expansion-set/ I've used these before to great effect. HTH Steve

Thats what i was fearing. i assume the cable goes into the drum then rather than actuating a lever on the back of the drum. not really a job i want to attempt on my own. cheers

Hi there, just out running errands this morning and the handbrake cable snapped right at the handbrake end where it connects to the lever. is it easy to replace as a DIY job? cheers Steve

Hi there, has anyone got any good upgrades for the speedo light on a 1998 defender 110? mine seems very dim and i struggle to read it. it may be that the glass/plastic is scratched or crazed which doesn't help but any recommendations to make it better would be appreciated. cheers Steve

i've driven the defender, its definitely quicker lol, only time will tell how i like it.

i'm thinking about supplementing my heater with a chinese diesel heater from Amazon. i like the thought of being able to preheat the interior remotely and hopefully defrost the windows etc. before coming into the car to start it up. I've also heard that you can get radiator covers for the front...
