One of those “spare” leads blue/white, green/blue or brown will be the amp trigger from the new head unit - look at the instructions

If so you need to connect the amp feed from the headunit to the purple and yellow wire on the original wiring harness

Did you have the engine running while trying after getting takeaway?
Did you lock the car whilst in Chinese? How long were you in the shop for?
Have you tried it after leaving the car for 30 minutes locked up?
