You are scotch locking into the reverse light feed using steps 48-50 on the instructions. You splice in to the wiring on the tow electric harness for the reverse lights - if you take a photo of the available connectors and post it more detailed advise can be given as to which wires

You need the P Con wire to trigger the amp and it’s unlikely the adaptor will include the wiring for that so you’ll have to manually connect the two wires

I think the exhaust manifold can crack on those giving you similar issues - worth a look

Has the speaker failed? Does the light flash on the switch?

Is it the original battery?

Contact your local Land Rover dealer with proof of ownership and the serial number of the radio and they should be able to get you the code from the factory

Don’t forget to get the battery monitoring system reset if you fit a new battery
