Well - when the battery in the fob was low if I remember correctly the symptom was one bleep of the horn and a flash of the sidelights - cured by replacing the battery not that long ago - 18 months or so - this is different. It's not the horn bleeping or the lights - it's bleeping in the dash...

recently and occasionally when I enter my 2005 facelift F1 the alarm light flashes and bleeps at me for about 10 seconds - what is it telling me?

My '05 plate td4 has a belt to the aircon pump with no tensioner - has anyone come across this before? - could it have anything to do with the engine having been transplanted from a Rover 75 (I think) As someone has cut the wires to the airco pump clutch I am guessing the aircon is not charged...

GG - I found a photo of the Daughter's engine label and it is L20 LRG7030 82555062 - so that is exactly what you would expect to see

Just check under the left front wing and you will see a 1" dia silvery pipe - that's the exhaust of you Fuel burning heater - typical behavoir that - goes smokey on mine as it switches off and purges

Better slip an oil drip tray under that to save your carpet (;-))
