    alarm bleeps

Well - when the battery in the fob was low if I remember correctly the symptom was one bleep of the horn and a flash of the sidelights - cured by replacing the battery not that long ago - 18 months or so - this is different. It's not the horn bleeping or the lights - it's bleeping in the dash...

    aircon belt- no tensioner?

My '05 plate td4 has a belt to the aircon pump with no tensioner - has anyone come across this before? - could it have anything to do with the engine having been transplanted from a Rover 75 (I think) As someone has cut the wires to the airco pump clutch I am guessing the aircon is not charged...

    Freelander 1 TD4 engine numbers

OK - Thanks Guys - I am a little further forward in as much as we believe my mill is from a Rover 75 - I just hope it was a nice low mileage unit when the previous owner sourced it. Actually it runs very well........ so what the hell Would there be any significant differences? I have no idea how...

Hi GG - no - read again - my Daughter's is original fitment as per her logbook (don't have a photo) - it's mine that has the funny engine - and that does have R40 as top right - so that would that confirm it's a Rover 75 engine? - my next question is can any Rover 75 owner tell me the...

    Freelander 1 TD4 engine numbers

When I asked how I could date or identify my car's engine number before I did not get very far - so let's try to throw a little light on TD$ engine numbers. Firstly it is not where Rave says it is. Stick a mirror or a camera down the back of the air filter housing - towards your right hand side...

    What is a "tratterer"?

Cows are nice people - and very curious - I have a beard and more than once to amuse the grandchildren I have gone and sat in a field of cows to have them gather round and eventually come right up and stick their nose in my beard to check if it was edible. Had more trouble with horses =...

    Jatco transmission

Also as nodge says - your one off change still has the cleaned off dirt in solution so it would be a good move anyway and not so expensive as the ravenol

    Jatco transmission

I used Ravenol JF506E on the basis that it was developed specifically for the Jatco box and is a much later specification than the original Land Rover N402 spec. It's much more expensive than the Carlube - but my changes are silky smooth on my 05 plate TD4 facelift auto at 130,000miles - only...

    New Zealand Members

I have driven that coast road a couple of times on the way from Christchurch to Cloudy Bay Winery - based on the time it took to stabilise and repair the landslip up at Kawakawa Bay where my Bro in Law lives - it'll be a bit more than two years - complete sections of road have just disappeared...
