    Freelander 1 Dashboard display

Ignore that, I've just had a look and there is a workaround. I forget how basic the FL1 information supply is compared to my Golf which is of the same era, not that I really feel it's a worse experience - just funny how LR seemed so unbothered about offering stuff like temp, MPG etc.

    Freelander 1 Dashboard display

I see, thanks. I assume UK models don't come fitted with the relevant sensors and cables to enable ambient temperature reading? Whilst not a priority for me, I assume it's possible to retrofit one should I get the billion other jobs done.

    Freelander 1 Dashboard display

The other day it struck me that only half of the cluster display is being used, showing only the odometer or trip, are there other functions that are available to display with some work, or is the rest of the space taken up if the car is an automatic?

I see. I was thinking is was as simply as going in to the computer and changing a setting!

Wanted Spare wheel cover for FL1 18" (235/50)

Looking for a genuine LR spare wheel cover for my Freelander 1 TD4 Sport that will fit 18" 235/50 tyres. If anyone happens to have one from a north-east England dealership that'd be even better.

    Freelander 1 Exhaust Box

Just had a nosy at your other videos, how easy is it to change the indicators to the three flash?

Sorry but I have more questions.......

I took the hit and changed the engine oil, IRD oil, diff oil, gearbox oil, coolant and have just flushed the power steering. Judging by the colour of my power steering fluid alone, just topping it up wouldn’t have really made things any better for the hydraulics. When next in the engine, make...

    Freelander 1 SATNAV

+1 for smartphone. I looked in to an original LR system that and then saw how basic the display was.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Also, I investigated a rattle in the engine and I’ve discovered these two grommets have perished causing quite bit more vibration, how would I describe them to buy new ones?

What have you done to your Freelander today

Finally spent some time flushing my power steering, this is what came out - somewhat darker than what went back in!

Freelander 1 Question About Cheap tyres...I mean really cheap

The difference in performance in my FL1 when I got rid of the cheap Sunny tyres in favour of Cooper tyres was immense, there are enough reviews out there to show the difference in tyres designed and tyres copied.

    Freelander 1 Heated seats

Recently, the drivers heated seat has developed an intermittent issue where sometimes when I turn the heater on, the light on the switch flickers and I hear a click underneath the seat. The passenger seat works fine. Can anyone please suggest some trouble shooting steps. I thought it might be...

    Michelin CrossClimate Plus

The CrossClimate+ would have been the tyre for me, the reviews are pretty much universally positive however on my 18" alloys it would have cost £167/tyre without fitting. They're only around £106/tyre for 16" alloys though.

    Headlight conversion

I went from standard bulbs to the Philips Racing Vision and the difference was very good.

    Power steering fluid TD4

    Yep, that’s happening tomorrow.

    Power steering fluid TD4

After all that, I went to start to drain the PSF bottle this afternoon to discover the liquid inside was red after all, albeit nowhere as bright red as the Carlube stuff I bought. The bottle must be very thick as it certainly looked blue/green from the outside! I am an idiot.

To buy or not to buy??

The piece in grey is a nudge bar, fitted as an option. I believe the fog lamps are on stalks to ensure they offer enough light spread.

Freelander 1 Fun in a Freelander

On the subject of sensible modifications to be a bit better off road, I'm not too keen on a lift kit mainly because it seems to require cutting stuff and a loss of on-road handling. However, I'm going to fit a slim-line exhaust which should give me an extra 30mm or so, and then I was considering...

    Changing Sport Suspension

For reference this is the height on my Sport.

    Changing Sport Suspension

I’ve a TD4 Sport, I think it’s 30mm lower than standard. I’m going to replace the back box with a slimline one which, in theory, should give me about 30-40mm more clearance!
