    Freelander 1 TD4 Poor Idle

Brake cleaner or MAF cleaner work well on the MAP sensor, as @teddywood1 says, don't stick anything down the little hole. Mike

Freelander 1 strange noise after turning off engine

It'd be impressive if it was, mine does it regular and I've got no EGR:) But it may be another component. Mike

Freelander 1 strange noise after turning off engine

Just to makes sure, did it sound like Donald Duck's death quack? If yes, this is completely normal and is the turbo bleeding air after engine shut off. If not, ignore. Mike

    IRD Compatability

So, my meds obviously haven't kicked in. It was the other way round. https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/can-i-install-ird-from-2-5l-v6-in-a-1-8l-freelander.220935/ Mike

    IRD Compatability

Going to be hard to get the V6 version. New and recons that are available are 4 pot only. Is it a big difference in ratio's. I remember a 4 pot one being put in a V6 years ago, but I can't remember the outcome. Mike

What have you done to your Freelander today

Great for spring/summer use, £5 a charge, about 150ish miles. And they appeal to the geek in me. I'd have to take it to pieces just to see how it works. Obviously, I wouldn't sell the Hippo. If I had the cash I'd buy an old dead K series and convert it. 4 motors using the new Bosch controller...

Bit of a let down, I even made it to work in the van. But it's snowing now here at work, about 740ft above see level. Getting back home might be a different matter. Mike

2005 freelander - sporadic exhaust smoke

Stick some injector cleaner through it. This sorts this type of problem most of the time. If that doesn't work, let us know. Mike

Freelander 1 td4 won't start after injector replacement - its snowing- help appreciated

Check the wires on the connectors haven't been caught. That cam sensor might look plugged in, wouldn't be the first time a broken wire stopped one starting. Mike

Lost Trust in Freelander 2 TD4 Diesel

Take it to an independent LR specialist up near you, rather than the main dealer. Cheaper and usually more honest. There's a few in West Yorkshire. As it's only doing it randomly, they may need to keep it for a few days. Mike
