Td5 Discovery Revs out of control

when it was turned off and back on it was okay but when accelerator pushed it carried on increasing revs but maybe one sticks but at the moment think more likely to do with accelerator but not sure

Td5 Discovery Revs out of control

What I am hoping is as it turned off with the key it was diesel being sent through the injectors so the problem is not mechanical but do not know what damage it may have done

Td5 Discovery Revs out of control

That is what I thought or diesel getting down in the engine oil and then into cylinder but if that would not turn off with key I think? I have had that happen more than once and had to stall the engine, think it is to do with accelerator controller

Td5 Discovery Revs out of control

Hi our Td5 has had a hard life, today my son was driving it with trailer on back as normal, came across a junction and engine started to rev out of control, but he turned the key off and it stopped, got there a bit later checked the oil, it was a bit low, turned the key and it ran normal, he...

    Injector video

It is always hard to know what to do our td4 sometimes is hard to start, it fires goes to start and dies, sometimes it will take 3 or 4 goes to get it to start then white smoke as un-burnt fuel in system, clears after 30 seconds then is okay, has done it for over a year runs well can go a month...

    Injector video

Had you done anything to the car before or did it just decide not to start one day? did it normally start really easy? Did it try to start (fire but not run)? Normally if the car is going okay one day and just will not start the next would not think it was injector seals, but for a diesel to run...

    Injector video

not too sure about the td4 engine but might be if there is a cam and crank sensor the ecu checks timing is okay, with compression if you are right on the edge of being okay the compression might just push it over the edge, a long shot but if you have fuel and compression it should run, other...

    Bankz's Discovery 2!

You should try doing a LHD one, pipe goes all the way across to where it would be on a RHD then comes back again

    Agreed value? Agreed by who…

I would speak openly to the insurance companies and say it is hard to value show the the silly prices on ebay, show them photos of what you have done and ask if you insured it with a value of 25k what would it cost and if you insured it with a agreed value of 10k what would it cost then make a...

    GREEN CAR??

Yes we have gone off track, but being green is more than just what car you drive, most of the people on here who drive older land rovers I would think do not heat there house 29 deg, do not fly off for weekends away once a month, tend to fix something instead of throwing it away, we may burn a...

    GREEN CAR??

I have no problem with oil or gas and I would have installed a oil boiler 5 years ago if I was asked what is best if you do not have gas New oil boiler installations have been band here, gas will follow soon, I would never say taking out a good working gas or oil boiler was the right thing to...

    GREEN CAR??

Really heat pump not right for that kind of installation, I would look at a pellet boiler, expensive to buy but cheap to run,
