I doubt you can just block off the egr....it'll see that as a fault. Early egr valves were fine but later ones are not so easy to get rid of.

Use a drive flange from something that doesnt have the flange as part of the shaft. Threse loads of them. Halfshaft out/in is a damn sight quicker than a propshaft...its 5 bolts at the wheel. if your center diff is not locked you have no handbrake.....undo the last halfshaft bolt and the truck...

does it turn backwards? If its only water in the cylinder it will turn backwards. Doesnt sound like it will though. Then its toast, con rod is bent. Depending where in the stroke it is it doesnt take much of a bend to lock them.

On my last 300tdi I had similar mods...blocked the wee wastgate pipe at the turbo and plumbed it to the rear of the inlet manifold. Had a boost gauge connected on to the pipe that supplies boost pressure to the top of the pump. a couple of inches back from the pump....the gauge didnt show any...

2 pack unless its metallic then basecoat and lacquer. Cellulose is crap unless your prep is 110% and theres a dozen coats. 2pack hides a lot of flaws, a mist coat with a decent coat on top...done and it'll have a shine. Not all 2 pack is equal though, better with decent stuff. Like said...
