I thought disco td5 turbo wastegates were vaccum? If you tee'd in to the pipe going to the wastegate....is it boost of vacuum you are seeing?

The jig is impressive..... The disco...every one of the many Ive broke up and scrapped was better than that :) Why no turbo?

Dont know what it is I used, Its Ford stuff that I aquired :) Its a silicone type sealer but black so not so easy to spot as some of the blue/orange/white stuff .

did you put sealer on the metal gasket? I always have and never had an issue. :)

I know :) I just think its amusing that and were now at the brake pipes rusting on the inside....FFs the chassis of a disco will be long gone before the brake pipes rust from the inside. :) The list at the beginning doesn't mention discs....so new pads on old discs and everything is supposed...

Theoretically a green man from mars could have landed and sabataged the brakes....again unlikely if you have brakes. But go ahead and replace all the rusted on the inside brake pipes if you like...you might aswell do it when you change the modulator that way youll only have to bleed the system...

A brake pipe with rust on it should not fail a mot. An "excessively" corroded brake pipe will fail a mot. A brake pipe will not rust inside unless there is oxygen and moisture in the pipe....unlikley if you have brakes. Replacing a rusty pipe will not fix your problem....better to stick to...

If your doing the seal....heat the arm....a long bar from the top on to the edge of the arm where the splines are and a few smacks with a real hammer. Or split it with a grinder and fit a new one. Yes you can fit the seals from the bottom and yes it can be successful....you just have to know...

Sometimes its not the tyre size that causes the problem....its the hole in the centre of the wheel thats to big to mount on the machine. Theres always dynabeads? or a a litre of water :)
