t5 start then cut out imob issue?

couldn't tellyou about a defender td5 but a disco td5 PCM needs a signal from the body module or it wont run. I guess a defender is similar...needing a signal from somewhere. There are ways and means round about it but nothing free :)

    Parasitic Drain (Not child related)

1.5 Ais quite a drain. A modern day ford car would be less than 0.3A thats enought for keep alive stuff like clock/radio/alarm. The little wires....one is the warning light. The other is rev counter. I doubt its either of them. I'd connect an Amp meter and pull fuses and relays and see...

    Cheap pneumatic brake bleeding kit.

Doesn't make any difference if its abs or not. Changed dozens of abs pumps/blocks/modules/pipes they all bleed just fine. I know most diagnostics have abs bleed routines...but the really are not needed :) Leave all the bleed nipples open and have a cup of tea. job done

    Disco 1 misfire,1995 3.9 V8

A compression test would not be a bad idea...might be a valve or a lack of compression but if the cam lobes are knackered and the valves are good you will still get some compression Rocker cover off and turn the engine over, watch the rockers to see if they move the same distance as the others.

    Ball joint or drop arm?

Thats how I do it, same idea to put the new one in :) When putting the circlip on the bottom I use a jack with a small socket to push the cap up. Its easier than removing the drop arm. :)
