I have found a company that sells the turbo core. has anyone ever replaced one themselves? The videos on youtube seem pretty straight forward. Its a big saving as the core is only £175 instead of a repaired unit at £325-£390

Finally got the Turbo out yesterday. Rave said to remove it from the bottom but there was no space to take it past the sub frame so I removed the drivers side headlight and slipped it out past the Aircon pipes. The spindle through the middle is still in tacked but plenty of play from side...

Found a turbo place in Essex today so once the turbo is off in the morning ill pop it over to them. It's going to be repaired hopefully which starts at about £200 and can be anything up to £325 (+vat unless cash) for a full service and repair which basically replaces all parts and sand blasts...

Or a CO2 one as it displaces the oxygen and the combustion process would then not be possible. You wouldn't have to clear out all the powder then.

It's an Auto! I guess I could fit it and once it's back up and running I can drop it to a local garage for tuning.

That's a good point. It prob does go to sleep eventually but if you have to open a door for anything it will just wake up for another 20 mins. Could connect a jump pack while working on it or if you don't need power take the neg terminal off.

Well the new battery has been on the car since Monday and so far so good it's not dead. I still have the hvac disconnected via the fuse so I'll reconnect that today and see what happens. Fingers crossed it was just a knackered battery.
