Having intermittent trouble with my 300TDi starter motor (again) which sometimes just clicks but the starter does not engage. I have been told to bypass the solenoid by putting a lead straight from the battery to find out if this is at fault. Do I just run a jump lead from the positive...
Yeah you're right mate I have no idea where the settings started as I have adjusted them all several times!! The first time I adjusted them she ran sweet for quite some time and then I started getting performance issues (the landy, not me!!) so I made some more alterations which never helped my...
Need some help here with this guys. Not sure if my answer lies within this thread somewhere already as I have not read the whole thing. I was having major problems with a lack of power on my 90 300TDi which I found to be the injection pump (full of rusty water and all siezed up) I have now...
Sounds like you got the wrong ones. There is two (I think) different sizes although there is only a few mm difference in them. I made this same mistake a few weeks ago. I think mine were 78mm and the ones I was trying to fit were 82mm. Either that or one of the needles from the bearings has...
I can open the wastegate using a pair of long nose pliers (can not get my hand in there). The top pipe if squeezed and then revved expands inside my hand so i'm pretty sure there is no leaks in that.
Have checked all pipes for splits and all seem fine. Air filter and diesel filter is new. Lift pump seems to be doing everything it should do. Im stumped!!!
Thanks James. Mine dont. Have had the turbo checked out which is fine. What else can stop the actuator moving?? I got almost zero boost. Have checked every pipe including the vacuum pipe from the pump and they are all fine.
Having performance issues with my Defender and trying to diagnose where the problem is. One question. When I rev the engine with the car not moving, should the turbo actuator move, or does this only move when there is load on the engine??
Cheers
Yeah, never thought about child locks. Will just build it and worry about the MOT when I get there. Can always remove it for the MOT if he has any problems with it I suppose.
Been looking at adding one of these to my Defender to take the strain off the rear door, but refuse to pay the money that they are sold for. Going to make one myself. Do they have to open with the rear door to pass an MOT as I have got seats in the back, or is it ok to swing it open from the...
Well I thought i'd take the easy option and grab it with some mole grips. That never worked so I started drilling it. Have drilled it all the way through with a 7mm bit but its still stuck and now the end of it is fecked so fair to say I made of mess of that job. Cant drill it with any bigger...
Thanks James. Will remove it and try again. There is loads left stuck out so will try to grab it with the mole grips. If that dont work i'm gonna have to drag my welder out which I really cant be arsed to do!!
Tried to adjust my lock stops this morning and one of them snapped. I have managed to remove the lock nut from the back of it but can not get nothing on the remaining threads to grab it as there is a little 11mm bolt right underneath it. What is that little bolt for?? Can I safely remove it...
